What Happened To (Rift) Herald?

I mean yeah its an advantage, but it doesn't seem that good, in lcs if a team is ahead they dont say, oh hey! lets go herald! No, they go drag and I feel like they should make it a questionable choice. So here are some Rift herald buff ideas

  • Faster Baron Killing To Given Champ
  • Better overall stats
  • Infernal drake and cloud drake buffs, more ap/ad and out of combat movement speed
  • The baron minion buff, but only on one minion, a cannon minion. Like the banner of command
  • Gold
  • Karma E sort of effect. Every 3 minutes or something if the champ with the buff gets low, he gains a shield that gives him mr, armour, speed.

Just some ideas, some seem OP But Herald seems lonely and useless.

Hard to make a 20 minute buff that feels fair and not oppressive to play against

Yeah they mentioned they wanted to look at it a little bit. Last I knew they were discussing nerfing its damage or health to make it safer / faster to clear. Right now the problem is it takes so long and does so much damage that it's an easy double kill for the enemy team. I don't think it's buff is the problem so much. (Could be wrong) Also, they noted that they don't want Rift Herald to be an equivalent to dragon, otherwise one team would just take Rift while the other takes dragon, leading to low interaction. In general I would say Rift Herald is really just a placeholder until Baron spawns in case you like, can't contest dragon for some reason.

This is bound to piss people off but

  1. Replace the Rift Herald with another Dragon pit
  2. Only after two elder dragons are killed (assume 1 from each pit) will Baron Spawn (i still think its dumb that such a epic monster just sits there waiting for shit to happen in his cave but meh.)
  3. Baron is revealed and will start roaming the jungle, killing all the jungle monster camps and keeping all the buffs. Camps cleared by Baron do not respawn. this is to stop over farming from the dominant team) (remove minion bonus damage buff when killed, instead, like dragons, red+blue+baron buff given to the team that kills it, lasts until killed) Make baron the end game objective, buff his hp and resist or watever, but once a team successfully kills baron, the game should be over by the hands of the champions, not minions.

but thats just my opinion...

Crazy idea: Killing Herald gives the slayer an additional buff that lasts until the first Baron is killed.

They automatically execute Baron when he drops below (percentage) HP.

So taking Herald would give that team a huge advantage when the first Baron spawns. The enemy team could still defeat the advantage if they take Baron first, but it would make a Baron steal really risky.
