How 2 ADC?

Ok, So I am playing solo que and I play mainly ADC. Kog'Maw and Jinx to be exact. But I keep getting the feeling like I have no idea what I am doing and if I get a kill, I always die after. Could I get some help on how to play ADC and how to be an overall stronger player. I was thinking of maining Caitlyn,Kog'Maw, and Draven . Any feedback? Are there any better champions I should play? I was thinking lucian but I don't know.

Sounds like you're overextending for kills.

As an ADC, you need to focus on staying alive and dealing damage at range. Don't go all out for a kill and get caught and killed afterwards.

For example, if you're teamfighting and the enemy ADC walks up to you and starts hitting you when you're stronger, you probably want to turn and fight. Let's say he flashes away when he starts losing, behind the enemy team. Some people might blow their flash to kill them, but that's the wrong choice. Just take the small victory and keep doing damage to whoever you can while staying safe. Knowing when you get punished for going in is an important skill to have as an ADC, since they're the most fragile and positioning-focused champions.

Ok, thank you for this. I am a bronze noob and I need this clarification. So basically, dont get greedy for kills but if theres a huge opening then go for it?

Yeah, you want to focus on surviving, not trading yourself for a kill. If you can get a kill and live, then go for it. If you probably won't survive, then don't get greedy. ADCs win teamfights by putting out the most damage, and you need to stay alive to do that.

thanks for the info, I will for sure keep this into consideration!

Hi i'm also trying to main adc this season and i'm feeling the struggle of being public enemy #1 always.

One absolute basic thing you need to do is to figure out what will get you killed in any particular game. Like if you're in a team fight you need to be aware of a blitz hook, a morg snare etc anything that will pretty much get you deleted if you get hit by it and position yourself accordingly.

Currently I've watched a lot of my replays and I actually found many of my deaths are because i'm not attack moving and one champion i'm trying to shoot suddenly retreats while another one walks foward and that half second my character goes to chase my initial target is enough of a mistep to get me killed, so that is one thing i'm going to be working on myself because i never bothered with attack move previously. That could be one thing you can work on also.

As for who to play just go for what you find fun, and possibly expand your champion pool as you go since many adcs can have similar playstyles and later on you can worry about who can fit with your team comp etc.

For example I like to play ashe when I have junglers with no cc like graves or nidalee, you can help them chase people or catch people with your ultimate.

or if you have a brand support he'll essentially just dish out extra damage instead of peeling for you, so it would be preferable to playing an independent adc like caitlyn instead of one that relies heavily on peel like kog'maw.

For general tips on climbing I highly recommend watching phylol, he makes videos daily now with updated information on solo queue, and he's also an adc main so a lot of specific advice will be about adc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIX-psxrQXE

Wow, Thanks Man! I will be sure to do that as I begin to learn the role. Thank you for such a long response. I never thought someone would give me such a long response Cheers!

Well since you mentioned caitlyn twice I assume you really wanna play her. Her strengh lies in zoning lane opponent out with pokes. You generally don't want to trade with anyone unless it's teemo. Your traps @ crucial locations will help you zone, and I generally save at least one trap available to place right on top of me in case melee opponents all in. Same goes for sieging, try to avoid hard engage unless your team has the upperhand.

I didn't even mean to do that, I just zoned out. But thanks for the support. I will need it anyway.

Trist is good to learn on.

Range increases with Level to end up the longest Basic Attack Range in the Game. Also easy to understand... your main focus is Turrets. E them and then Auto them until they go boom. Very simple.

Same thing when you want to kill something... E them and then Auto them until they go boom, moving back away or towards as required.

If you don't want something to kill you, R it away from you and run.

Early on, never jump into fights... only use your jump to escape.

Once you get better at learning your damage, jump IN when you know you have the kill (it will reset your Jump and you can chase or escape as required then).

Her Splash Damage also helps with pushing lane and getting CS.

Her W resets when you fully stack your E now, so if you're going all in for a kill then you may as well W onto their faces for the second or third auto (depending on how far away you are), and if they heal bait it just jump back out.

Watch Twitch.tv streams....a great way to learn roles.

TWO ADcs doesn't work.

Just play Graves and smash face on keyboard to win

-REALLY focus on cs. As you get better it becomes easier to do so and you don't have to pay so much attention to it. -Don't be afraid to fight but don't over extend and get greedy -Your success in lane is usually determined by your support. Make sure to communicate with your support so you both know when to go in and you're ready when they make a play. If you're too far away from them or you don't talk, you won't be ready to attack and you'll miss a kill.
