Cass or Syndra Mains. Come here please!

Alright Homies, If you don't main syndra or cass then you got clickbaited. But for those who can read and do main cass and/or syndra I have a question. Should I main them?

Now I won't end it there. Here's what I like to play. I have mainedAhri and Katarina (Kat in me newb days). They were fun, but got super repetitive and it felt like the same old every time, charm, q, w, ult or q,w,e,r,mash buttons bc resets. And I am tired of playing them. I want to play a champ like them though. Bursty, easy to play hard to master and fun overall. I heard cass just mashes E to kill people. Are their kits boring and repetitive or do they have an infinite ways to play them?

Also, I don't need any item builds, just opinions. I can use mobafire or another thread. But if you think I shouldn't play any of the two, tell me who I should play.

Thanks!

If you like watching the enemy flash away as you ult them, then whine about how dumb it is that Syndra's ult is point and click, then pick Syndra. She is honestly really fun and rewarding to learn and master.

This this this!! I have so many enemy squishy ADC's, mages scream at the top of their lungs saying how unfair it is that the ult goes through even after flashing it's hilarious

syndra is bae

Syndra is pretty fun to play and she has more variation with her kit than the champs u mentioned. The same thing can kinda be said about Cass except her variation isnt in how you fight in lane but in how you outplay her opponents. Cass's ultimate and her miasma can sometimes be the deciding factor in teamfights.

If you want more bursty type of champ and you are fine with being immobile and landing skillshots i would say go with Syndra. If you want to play a more sustained dps/ kite mage i would say go Cass.

P.S- We may have different playstyles so I don't know if this helps but in terms of me not getting bored as often, I personally find Cass to be the less boring of the two (both are still fun tho imo). I main both these champs and Cass has kept my interest longer. Thats just my 2 cents tho :)

Thats cool, Imma start with syndra, if I don't enjoy her i will try cass.

You don't need to main anyone. I have 344 champion mastery points, because I've tried so many different champions. I say, try them both! See for yourself, which one do you like better.

RebornnFX2 votes

Im not saying which, but should I.

Cass/Syndra have the same type of repetitive combo. I think most mages do, unfortunely... they just have optimal spell rotations/patterns.

Something like Brand/Vel'koz/Xerath might offer slightly more flexibility with combinations. Ryze might, as well, but he's not really bursty until much later in the game.

Hey there I'm also an Ahri and Kat player, with Ahri being my main. I've played lots of Syndra too and for me she is more satisfying than Cass because I prefer to burst down opponents and then bring aoe to the team fight while looking for squishies to ult and take out quickly. Cass doesn't have the same kinda burst as the other three mentioned but can bring a lot of sustained damage over team fights and her ultimate can easily turn around a team fight. Neither have too much variation in their combos but with how I feel I prefer bringing Syndra into the game over Cass cause big burst damage and still being able to team fight after taking out a high priority target is how I like to play my mids, and she's got the same kinda feel as the other two you play

Oh wow, what a coincidence. May I add you on my account? I feel like since you have played similar champs to me you could sort of mentor me?

Haha oh goodness, I don't think I'm quite good enough to really mentor but feel free to add me! We could always play together some time!

Alright, I sent a request. I didn't mean mentor as in carry me to victory, just to help me on small things.

No problem sounds good!

Syndra is really fun to play and pulling off her combos is really satisfying to watch. She's also one of the mages that can dish out high amounts of damage reliably so you often don't have to bring ignite with you which you can switch with barrier or ghost.

Cass is like an AP machine gun when you get to mid/late game and it's fun watching the enemies health get melted away while not being able to escape from rylais. If anyone plays enough Cass, you'll understand when I say even though her e is on like a 0.80 cd without cdr it still feels so fucking slow and clunky

I'm a bit biased towards Syndra as I play her more but I can guarantee that a good Syndra will almost always crush a Katarina or Ahri anyday so that's something you can look forward too

If you rely on mobility to kill or survive, then don't bother. They are quite immobile for the first half of the game.

RebornnFX1 votes

then who should I play?

ZT Xperimentor2 votes

Well if you're patient with cassiopiea then you could make it work; it's just a level scaling movement speed as her passive, so if you fall behind she's like a brick.

-AurelionSol has more map pressure with his flyby, but it has a crazy long cooldown and the passive movement speed only functions in straightlines. -Azir has more spontaneous movement but can be just as tricky to master due to his soldier manipulation. -Diana used to be like the bruiser version of katarina, not quite as mobile though still relies on combos & timing. -Karma's movement speed from her shield is deceptively strong, however she falls off as the enemy team builds up. -Kassadin was the original telefrag assassin, along with leblanc, but like leesin they require immense practice to master. -Kennen I'd say is like the ranged version of jax; mixed damage, can be built AD or AP, fairly skill reliant on carrying the team. -Lissandra's blink is rather handy as she can jump walls with it, but she's more of a utility mage so she's better off in teamfights than roaming; same with orianna. -Nidalee is probably the closest to ahri in terms of playstyle, moving around while poking, though she's also more complex from having 7 abilities. -Taliyah I suppose could be, though more of a jungler than anything because her movement bonus only works around walls. -TwistedFate has the same issues as aurelionsol, good map presence, terrible in lane if countered. -Ziggs has more versatility in that he can manipulate both his & the enemy positions, but it's a long cooldown so don't rely on it often.

It's all a matter of personal preference, try a few games with whichever interest you, then decide who you'd like to focus on playing.

I am not a fan of all of them.

They are quite immobile for the first half of the game.

Aren't they always?

ZT Xperimentor2 votes

If you can get cassiopiea to level 18, then no, her passive is better than boots of swiftness. Syndra however doesn't get any mobility ability, passive or active.

PayaThePapaya1 votes

Syndra is pretty repetitive. It's just the same combo of getting a ball and knocking them aside before bursting. There are some minor variations but she's honestly not very mechanical

RebornnFX1 votes

then who should I play?

Vistha Kai1 votes

There's some variety in Syndra's play pattern, though.

Cassio's just QEEEEE.

Vistha Kai1 votes

Should you?

Honestly, if you own them, play them.

I'm biased when it comes to Syndra and still I haven't grown tired of playing her since ger release_(did grow tired of the game as a whole, but that's another issue)_.

She's especially fun, if you get to play against LeBlanc.

As for Cassio... Well, you answered your question already. She's all about QEEEEE. There isn't really any variation about it.

RebornnFX1 votes

I don't own them though. I don't want to waste RP on both of them. But do you know any other champ that I may like?

Kaioko1 votes

Both of those champs are more complicated than the current champs you play. Cass is not bursty unlike Syndra but is a great addition if your team lacks consistent damage and doesn't need the burst. She does well against tankier, non burst champions, such as vlad, swain and kassadin. Syndra on the other hand relies on landing her stun in order to combo the rest of her skills and like most burst mages, she doesn't do much after she's killed her target.

All champions have some repetition to them but they're also quite flexible in how you play them. If you played Kat and Ahri only in the ways you mentioned above, then you haven't actually mastered them. Some do have more than others but Ahri, Cass, Kat, and Syndra have great flexibility in their kits for the most part.

RebornnFX1 votes

Okay, Thanks for this.

Witch of Babylon1 votes

Cassiopeia is definitely harder. Syndra is much more easier and more satisfying to play as.

Arakadia1 votes

Syndra combos are fun af and rewarding.

SpookyNeedle1 votes

I'm mastery 5 Ahri and Cassiopeia Mastery 6 Syndra And mastery 7 Katarina (Not to mention mastery 7 300k Fiora main)

Out of your choices id say Syndra is the best pick

I don't understand why people say Cass is easy to play and is just QEEEE.

At face-value, yes, that is what her combo/kit is, but she is hard to play. She is a sustained damage mage and plays like an ADC. No one complains about ADC play, because they output so much sustained damage and have to kite while they do damage. Cass is similar. Learning to kite effectively while outputting her combo is pretty hard. If she does it really well, she can do great amounts of damage- but if not, well of course you can just QEEEEEE.

RebornnFX1 votes

FINALLY. Someone who reassures me. I have been wondering by saying why am I playing if I just spam E, but then I realize positioning is key and I died so much because of that. May I add you? Just so that I can ask about kass and such without spamming these forums?
