Is Bronze 4 significantly harder than Bronze 5.

Its maybe seven times now I've been able to easily carry out of Bronze 5 but almost never been able to pass 30 lp in Bronze 4. If it happens once, I can understand but its happened over and over so many times now that I'm starting to think there is some pattern here. In Bronze 5, I get fairly decent allies that are carriable and I've been able to do so multiple times in a row but as soon as I hit Bronze 4, I seem to start getting the worst allies imaginable. I get fed some of these games but these guys are so utterly terrible that I cannot for the life of me carry them.

Can someone tell me why this is happening ? Is Bronze 4 so much higher than Bronze 5 in terms of skill level or is there some quirk in the matchmaking system that contributes to this pattern. It just seems like B5 players are better and easier to work with.

I remind you that I counted at least 7 times going on win streaks out of Bronze 5 only to get kicked back down from Bronze 4 very very quickly.

No, there is no difference really. At least very little. You might see a slight difference around bronze 2-silver 4 though.

It's because win streaks will take you up a division, but then you go on a losing streak and drop down. I wouldn't worry too much about it, and just focus on improving your gameplay, especially the basics like last hitting, objective focus and proper item builds

i actually would try to worry less about your rank and focus on how you can win more games. I personally don't think you should be putting so much value onto bronze 4 compared to bronze 5 as you should be "how did I play this game? Could I have done better?"

You're not a pro player yet and neither am I so let's focus on improving and winning and not about what rank you are. It's the easiest way to psyche yourself out of a win

Thx for the advice. I get what you're saying. Just thought it was so strange that B4 seems so much harder.

I haven't been there but in theory there is no skill floor in bronze 5 so people could be actual dumpsters mashing a keyboard and not go lower however in bronze 4 you can be demoted if you perform too badly, so in theory there could be quite a large gap between the two

there is barely a difference between bronze and gold. so its really unlikely there is one between b4 and b5.

When you said this, I gave you the benefit of the doubt. At the time of this post, I never laned vs someone significantly higher than me in terms of MMR.

However, this morning they disabled ranked in order to prepare to release patch 6.10. I'm usually asleep at this time however, I was up this time and decided to play a norm before bed. Got matched vs a Silver 3 Varus main. This guy totally dominated me in every way conceivable and he did it effortlessly. From the 1st 10 seconds in lane with him, I thought this guy was Plat or Diamond. They way he laned, I've never ever faced someone like that in Bronze. He was such a monster when it came to CS. He had something like 170 cs by 23 minutes, something you will never ever see in Bronze. Also, in lane I could not farm at all. I would lose half my HP every single time I try to CS. When I had 19 CS, he had something like 60. No Bronze player could ever shut me down so hard or outfarm me so easily when I play I best champs. I decided to look this guy up. Found he is only Silver 3. If a Silver 3 player could do that, imagine what a bonafide Gold would do.

Point is, I learned this morning that there is a vast difference of skill between Bronze and Gold.
