I've been away for half a year. Everything has changed, but the community hasn't.

Before I came back at some point last month, I was away for six months for various reasons, not the least of which is because I was trying to deal with a stalker and, specific to League, I was tired of dealing with overspecialized teams of nothing but ultra-defeatist assassins and spending thirty minutes to an hour just trying to find ANY queue where everyone didn't give up before even entering the lobby, then wasting my time by idling in the fountain and waiting for the agonizing release of death. I even stopped paying attention to the news about the game.

Six months later I come back. Everything has changed. New item functions, new gameplay changes to some of my favorite champions (some for the better, others not so much), new voices for some champions, new skins, etc. I spent a lot of time away researching various subjects and honing my own knowledge base and grammar, as well as starting up and finishing various personal projects.

The only thing that hasn't changed is the community, and that is a VERY bad thing.

I continue to meet people who brag about how many hours they spend on this game per week and STILL haven't learned the first two things about the game. They continue to go all AD melee assassin and thrust all of the duties that isn't trying to get pentakills on the support, they STILL don't know what support items look like or do (another thing I learned within 30 seconds upon returning to the game), they STILL haven't given up on this ultra-defeatist bender, and the only thing anyone thinks of ever doing is teamfighting.

Oh yeah, and there continues the dumbass mentality that you can only ever get even halfway decent at one champion ever, and only if you endlessly play that champion exclusively for 120+ hours every week, an idea so fallacious I don't even know where to begin.

Nobody ever pushes, goes for objectives, or in any way adapt or respond to what's right in front of them. I've long since questioned the sentience of League players, and ever since I've come back the situation seems to have gotten considerably worse. People throw themselves mindlessly at each other like a pack of rabid mongrels more than before, expect people to read their minds as an excuse for a total lack of communication and barely understand any function of the game outside of following some pre-established behavioral pattern that isn't their own without ever understanding the why behind anything they ever do. It is worse than being a mindless zombie.

I've tried pointing this out for years now, reiterated the same goddamn thing countless times in even more countless ways. NOBODY has bought a clue yet, and continue to make the same mistakes and fall into the same traps and fallacies and continue to narrow their perception until a subatomic particle appears infinitely larger than the breadth of the observable universe.
