Soraka is too one-dimensional

and I think this limits her potential greatly.

In addition, Riot has a noted disdain for dedicated healers (rightfully so), which is why I've always been puzzled by the rework she got in season 4 that pushed her even further into that territory. Starcall spam probably needed to go because it was auto-targeted and thus unfair, but her old E had a lot of variable uses -- it could silence enemies or provide mana for allies/herself.

Why did we get rid of these? They could have been implemented in healthier ways, sure, but I think Soraka would have been much better off had Riot done that instead of emphasize the 'spam-healing' she does now. The lack of options she has essentially boils down her current strength to how soon, if at all, the enemy team buys Grievous Wounds. Soraka is now an extremely passive laning champion and is discouraged from interacting with enemies at all in teamfights, save for throwing down a silence or a Starcall when she can.

I think she needs another rework, one that goes back to her roots so we can shift her away from existing entirely around healing (it should still be a strong part of her kit) and being easier to fit in the game without being numerically overpowered.

How is she one-dimensional? She's an aggressive poke healer utility disruptor peeler.

She's simple, but all of her abilities actually have many ways to use them. If you think she exists merely for healing, you're playing her WRONG.

She has instant aoe silence

She isnt just a heal bot..

I disagree. She offers a lot and is countered by a lot. She's also fun to play in my opinion.

In general it seems champions who are tied heavily to healing (Mundo, Vladimir, Swain, Soraka, etc) could use some work alongside grevious wounds. They tend to either be extremely effective, or extremely lackluster, which usually depends on how effectively grevious wounds are being applied.

yes, all of those champs are pretty outdated

I think Soraka just needs more to do, maybe having to do X thing with her Q or E to empower her healing for a short while? that way she has to be interactive and gets greatly rewarded for it

her healing is increased if you land your Q on champions tho

She's fine. Her poke is a crazy fun minigame that facilitates building AP and her silence/snare is super powerful. Like seriously, give it a DoT and a larger radius and you have an ult right there.

She was even more passive with her old silence. She was never going to use the Mana give outside of laning, which just resulted with Soraka staying in the back and healing big chunks of damage every 20-12 seconds, giving mana, and hanging out of reach. Her Q was mainly for when they engaged on you, not her using it offensively due to its range, while still hanging out away.

IDK why she can't be part mana battery like she used to be.

Let her W 'Astral Infusion' cost a % of her HP and Mana. If the ally doesn't use mana, she doesn't expend any.

I honestly don't want that to be a thing, especially after the rework for item 3301. By picking up the coins, she can sustain her own mana and her ADCs mana all the time, leading to a lane where both enemies are able to spam their skills endlessly.

Maybe Soraka should get some work (I think she is fine though), but please don't bring back the mana battery.

IMO i think they could do some interesting stuff with her ally speed boost, and make her essentially a healing/helping Warwick. They could also work it in ways to make her feel more "celestial goddess" like.

Firstly how about we get rid of Runan and Grievous Wounds interaction? Applying GW to 3 targets in 1 AA is disgusting. Secondly how about we also balance soraka so that she is not completely useless when you have grievous wounds. Thirdly i agree with what you said about soraka being 1 dimensional in just about everything. Even her kit is so 1 dimensional. The % health sacrifice absurdly limits her choices of items and secondly her Q spamming just means she is the most boring support to lane against. I am a soraka main myself but i really do find that she could have great potential for being the game's sole healing focused champ but as of right now, she is just spam Q in lane and W outside lane..

She's stupid.

What a good support dichotomy, give up my health.

And then factor in wounds.

I get what they wanted. League was a bad game for it.

Yeah. soraka is pretty one-dimensional. The thing is, i kinda liked her post rework, when she had small empowered zone in the center of her Q. And this healing was instant, and that helped a lot. Right now I lost all the joy in playing Soraka. Didn't even got her to lvl 7.

Hi. Soraka is my favorite champion in the game and was the first champ I bought when I started on West and later made an Acc on East(because all my friends moved there sigh).Currently I have a 76% WR with her and am G1.

To be honest. When you play her,she feels impactful .A bit passive compared to other support, but she still fulfills her niche. There're a few reasons why she will and needs to be changed in the future, because to be honest.I'm don't see her as the healthies champions in the game, not even close. There're a few reasons for that.

  1. Grievous wounds. All healing champion needs to be their heals in their stronger side balance wise, because once the mechanic is applied it goes down and makes those champs feel a bit meh. 1 AA and great less healing.Much skill. Or from Morello's 8 second duration. My suggestion: It would be good if RIOT could make 2 versions of it.Once the decreases overall healing by a much smaller amount(myb make it stacks?) and the other that post pones healing over X second.

  2. If IROT wants to make her a primary healer that's balanced. She needs another ability that heals. You might be asking HOW would that fix her? Lemme explain. Right now In lane she heals with W.One ability that's honestly quite Q (tho it's betetr to max Q in most cases). If RITO implemented a heal on her Q that procs on her when she hits both and ally and enemy. It would distribute her healing and makes her less frustrating from just pressing W over and over again. Next. Her ultimate. It's one of her most iconic abilities, yet it really impactful.Since she already has W to heal. Her ultimate should be a delayed skillshot.Something similar to Redemption.Myb even with a active component?

  3. E should have a delay. It's a really powerful ability. Giving it 0.25 delay and an indicator would give her counter play she needs and that she lacks. Remove her MS boost on her Q.It's really un-necessary. Maybe even look at her passive. It's good, but lacks visual power. I know it's strong in certain situations and it's helps, but if feels like I would be much better of having something else. One idea, could be that her early healing is decent, but needs Healing&Shielding power to be impactful later on. Her new passive could give her additionally healing and shielding power depending on her CDR.

Ok.Come at me.

simple solution, experiment with reimplementing pre-rework soraka and address balancing.
