I can really see the appeal to Mordekaiser. His mastery of metal spooky ghost hokum and deadly shrapnel blue mist flying out at people. Not to mention his giant metal ghost mace and the suit of armor his soul is confined to his ghost armor that covers up the spooky skellington inside, but don't tell China about the skellington

You're right, Riot; Mordekaiser really makes no sense being a metal mage.

I can't get it into my head as of why Morde has to get whitewashed and homogenized like the rest of the shadow isles champs. Yes, cohesion is great but it should never inhibit a character from really flourishing and living up to their vision.

Morde is not green. not blue! He's a mix of cold metal hues of blue, grey and red, symbolizing his dominion over pain and metal and not swirly ghost farts. He yells a powerful curse and your body succumbs to the sheer power of his will as you feel metal shrapnel shred your very essence as your will is beaten into submission by his overpowering force of mind.

Damn, the more I think of it the more I feel like Morde's the BIGGEST WASTED OPPORTUNITY. He's got so much goddamn POTENTIAL to be great, unique, interesting, iconic but nooooo we can't have that, all have to be grim dark caricatures...

Nothing else needs to be added, the OP pointed out everything. I think we can start preparing for funeral, because Mordekaiser is right now lying on his deathbed, dying from a type of cancer called "Rito rework ftw".

Honestly if they really wanted to define Mordes theme more clearly I would rather they focused more on being a metal mage rather than a generic spooky ghost mage.

I seriously don't understand why Riot is doing all this. First the Retcon that removed us as Summoners from the world, and deleted the IoW. Now, deletion of entire characters.

Seriously, I'm starting to think that CertainlyT is the Matt Ward of League of Legends.

Destroying lore and replacing with bland and/or nonsensecal dish water? check. Changing or making new abilities that don't fit the character well, but is flat out op? Check. Not giving a damn about what everyone says, or what the general consenses is? Check. Somehow keeping his job? Check.

After they do that, they'll change his name to Phantom, the Lord of Death and nobody will be able to tell what happened to Mordekaiser.

Morde is a guys that can control both Metal and Supernatural power. In fact since he is using his own health to damage enemies It's implied that he uses his own metal armor to harm others with his W.
