Why does riot insist on enforcing the meta?

Every season they try to cement the idea of having a marksman every game. This is probably the reason why we will never ever see a mage, bruiser, or assassin going bot. I want to go a time where marksman shouldn't be mandatory on every team. Imagine playing a team full of bruisers and tanks against a team with 3 assassins, that will work very well.

Oh, so I see you have the easy and universal solution to the Gold/Exp ratio that the Support causes then?

Riot tried to force a Mage bottom.

And it was the absolutely worst abomination of balance imaginable.

You can't possibly be referring to mord, He's a Juggernaut.

But yeah, Riot doesn't enforce the ADC bot lane, it just happened because it was optimal, all because ADC's don't really care about levels because their AA reliant.

For anyone else, it would require some work in the item infrastructure to actually support alternative bot lanes. (The little experiment that was mord, proved that they couldn't do it with Kit work alone)

What alternative bot lanes might even work? Skirmishers? might be the closes as they are Melee ADC's. But they would need some way to survive the ranged harass early game. Bruisers? Mord showed how Relic shield might support a Tankier options, But their still needs to be a stronger push. What about mage Supports? Do the kits of say, Brand and Zyra offer enough in the duo lane, to give them effective presence if they were the ones getting the lane gold?

I think it's the meta because it's the most balanced type of team, not necessarily because Riot enforces it. I would guess that ADC evolved to be bot because it lead to higher win rates for those teams. In season 1, you would see all sorts of sh*t going bot, and having two top was no big deal. If you want to try a Renekton/Pantheon strategy bot, give it a go. I've done it and kill lanes can win, but you will have to prove yourself because people are used to the meta.
