Arcane Blade instead of Nimbus Cloak

I see a lot of feedback that players are not happy with Ultimate Hat being exchanged for Nimbus Cloak. What if Arcane Blade (5% AP On-hit) were brought back instead of adding the new Nimbus Cloak? Mages have been asking for Arcane Blade to return since Runes Reforged. A new iteration of Spell Weaving mastery could also be welcome (possibly as a Sorceror keystone). By the way, Arcane Blade should not be made adaptive scaling in my opinion, but it could be given a minimum (3-5) on-hit damage floor that takes effect until enough AP is obtained to surpass it. There are other non-adaptive masteries already, such as a magic-damage only shield that happens to disfavor AP champions in the game, so adaptive scaling isn't necessarily a rule for new runes.

Arcane Blade would do literally nothing, idk why people request it.

So you understand, your autoattacks would do 10 more damage at 200 AP, which is halfway through the game. At that point you're pretty much no longer autoattacking, and item 1056 already has the effect for CSing

I think there should be some qualifier to it like "after killing a unit, your next auto deals X bonus damage" or "every 5 seconds, your next auto attack deals X bonus damage" Riot loves that sort of thing

Arcane Blade wouldn't have a place in the current rune setup.

Arcane Blade was unmitigated garbage. With 800 AP (something you won't hit anymore) it provided a whopping 40 extra magic damage for champions who had an auto rate of less than one attack per second. Even if you 'wove' it into your spell rotation it would provide a maximum of 160 (4 autos) worth of extra damage.. Before resistances. With 800 AP.

Even with regards to CSing, which is what a lot of people argue for.. It provided a grand total of 2-5 (40-100 AP) for most of the lane phase, before resistances.

Arcane blade would have to be massively beefed up in order to compete. Making it 20% would perhaps work, or giving it some sort of sheen-line passive (deal extra % of base AD / total AP on auto after casting a spell? cast spells to stack a buff which does that?), to make it even remotely mention able in the current rune lineup.

I loved arcane blade, but It should be made into a keytone instead and should add 15% ap instead.

That's such a bad idea. The point of Runes Reforged is to make pre-game decisions more fun and interactive. Even when you take the simplest current rune you ask yourself "ok, I took x. What do I do with it or how can I maximize its potential?". Literally a CS helper usable ONLY by mages doesn't deserve to be a rune. And don't give me the wOw nUlLiFyinG oR🅱 exISTs riP MaGES 👌👌 because there's so much more in the game that deals magic damage besides mages. And Nullifying Orb can be taken on anyone, not just your very hated assassins.

Edit: Oh and it can't be a Sorcery rune because Sorcery's desciption says "Empowered abilites and resource manipulation" which doesn't imply "do more dmg on autoattacks". That's for Precision.

Arcane Blade was fun and rewarded close range fights with mages instead of long range nukes from the fog of war.

why would you had even more damage ???? . Also nimbus clock give utility on a ultimate and the rune didnt get designed to be a mage rune .

Deals 5 flat + 2-10% (0.5% per level) magic damage on-hit.
