is it wrong as support to sell your support item after said support item is fully upgraded?

logic is this: if support item has a poaching penalty even after the fact its established its full power wouldnt it be more efficent combat wise to buy pinks instead since they are gutting hardcore mages such as brand or zyra? it would be somewhat more efficent after say 5 min after final upgrade since hey the item isnt doing its job anymore of supplying you gold so you basically "fire" it. would you get more from selling it and replacing it? powerwise ofc

i read the passive after its fully upgraded and was surprised its still has that nerf on it.

you aren't playing support to be based around 100% combat effectivity, support is a utility carry in most cases unless you're a degenerate and play brand or zyra and just want to oneshot the world

one ward used correctly and good communication can usually = free kill, you can't get enough vision on the map without your support item

vision's the most busted mechanic in the game if executed correctly

lol i only play them if im autofilled/my favorite champ is banned or facing senna or any other squishy support.

anyways how is it busted. (this isnt a complaint its a question of efficiency) i want to be efficent as possible if im autofilled. from a top laner perspective autofilled as support

in this meta botlane's never been more important with the drake contesting, a ward on the drake will more often than not stop the enemy from doing the drake for another minute and a half, if you deep ward around the blue buff/gromp/wolves you'll be able to communicate to your team "yo enemy jg is botside gromp, probs ganking bot/mid" - 3 minutes + for your team on knowing where the enemy jg is, coz he's gonna clear wolves, blue, gromp, gank either mid or bot and you'll know about it in advance

if you have actual teammates you can usually coordinate a counter-gank based on what he's clearing

if he's doing gromp > blue > wolves he's going mid - all your jg has to do is get ready to countergank mid and free double

if he did wolves blue gromp he's going bot, free double/tripple

all that came from your item 3340

vision's especially powerful in the late game, one misstep from an enemy trying to side push lanes you can easily pick them off

vision's been consistently nerfed since s7 because riot released this shit's busted but it does require a degree of ability from your side

oh ok i get it. its probably a trade off since drags are more powerful now then before aka support item gets auto upgrade but has to deal with that debuff.

It used to be like that, but now no matter what you do there is not enough ward for true map control. Used to play with 15 ward Janna. Now that is when you any mistake the enemy makes can be abused. Sure it helps, but not enough.

In endgame when you are on full build it might worth trading the support item. If your team has hard push, then enemy has no choice, but fight. And you don't really need wards to roll down on mid.

Taking your own team's blue is probably one scumbag step too far, though unless you are fed, carrying, and the other potential blue users are trashcans.

Taking the enemy jg's gromp, blue, and wolves is ideal. And scuttles is part of the vision game so it is fair game I would say. However, you will still be much more poor than any other role unless you are getting kill gold (not assist), so don't be afraid to KS.

Of course, if someone AFKs and you are in a 4v5, you should sell the item immediately. As nice as the wards are, they are not gold and items, and you will be forced to clear waves.

Don't sell it unless you winning and have priority on drakes. Heck, don't even sell it unless you need the room. It's only worth 160 gold so no matter how useless it becomes, its not going to give you anything to sell.

If you need room though then sell it. Or if you going to sell it and grab another support item that has like AP.

oh ok i get it its mainly for drakes and avoiding sneak attacks so sell it after full build and can run it down mid

You only get 160 gold for selling it, and you will lose 1700 gold worth of stats So definitely not sell it.

You are playing a support mage. You literally gained extra ap stats for free from the support change and yet you’re still begging for more.

Go back to playing mid lane since you can’t handle living on a support budget.

but im not a mid laner im a top laner filled as support. the very opposite absolute of a support in other words.
