I honestly think the only reason this game is dying is because Morello Left.

> I think the biggest issue here is that we don't make mobile champions "pay" for mobility enough in their total power budget. Immobile mages are a good example of this fallout, as you mention.

> When you have mobile champions that have the same or similar "raw" power output to a champion without mobility, it creates winners and losers really quickly. I agree here.

> In this, I think mobile champions should be more tactically flexible (due to mobility) and have less raw power to compensate. I think, though, this will require more and nerfs and buffs. And will mostly be toning down the raw output of mobility champions (as you mentioned, Syndra and co are bullshit and remove gameplay decision-making due to power factors, so buffing immobile mages is not a good plan).

> Preseason 2015 actually does help this in a strategy way in the meantime; jungle ganks, on average, are less frequent, giving less total pressure to immobile characters. This is some of what we saw with more traditional mage mids in Season 2 that we think will buff all these characters a little bit in the meantime. -Morello

Morello had the right Ideas. High mobility do not have downfalls in 2018. They dish out tons of damage while also being incredibly difficult to land skillshots on and land picks on.

This has a pretty even up/downvote ratio, so I think it's safe to say that this issue is divisive. Personally, I think that mobility is a great way to make for flashy counterplay.

Mobility needs to be balanced by CC, though, so making a healthier way for lockdown champs to face mobility champs is the crux of the cause here. This, as well as making most damage a little less powerful, would do wonders for the balance in the game.

I want to upvote this so much. Mobility creep us disgusting in this game and champions having it in redundant amounts do not pay enough for it. Oh where are you now Morello...

Both the mobility and AD creep. AD started getting treated as a viable AP mechanic back in like season 4, and created a power arms race between AD auto attackers, Tanks, and AD casters. Riot still has yet to resolve this issue.

The problem is that it's really hard to have meaningful variety without some options being strictly better, and it's even harder to make a champ that doesn't feel like bullshit to play against.

Excessive mobility is a pain to deal with, but so is excessive cc, damage, tankiness, utility, waveclear, range, versatility and aoe. There's pretty much no kind of power in a champion's kit which feels good to play against other than maybe invisible power and that just passes the buck and makes you blame other things.
