How to fix zed?

Deus Imperator··3 votes·845 views

Greetings, let me start by saying i enjoy playing zed (KEEP READING,I JUST LIKE HIM BECAUSE HE IS A SHREDDER EXPY OK?)

Now, i know nobody likes laning against him unless you are on equal footing, so i ask the forums, what changes must be made to zed to make him more tolerable?

Here is a list of the simpler ones i trough of

-Decrease his Shuriken damage -Decrease Death Mark damage -Nerf his passive -Increase his skills energy cost -Decrease energy regeneration -Decrease the range of how far he can spawn the shadow doppelganger -REWORK HIM COMPLETELY

Which ones of these should be applied? Or post your suggestions

Except he's not OP, not even close.

OP is just salty that a Zed player outplayed him.

EDIT: AD champs get QSS, AP champs get Zhonya's and that's ignoring champs like Tahm which hard counter him

He has a tonne of quite extreme counterplay.

So because i want my champ to be balanced instead of toxic i am salty?

i would say give him mana but make his ult have 0 cost. and nerf ultimate cooldown a bit

But all the ninjas use energy :/

Really i feel like the best way to keep zed in check is offer us more solutions to defeat him.

I mean, there's hard CC but it typically needs to be reliable to fight him really effectively. That pretty much points to Ryze, but he's going in for a 4th rework so don't really hold your breath on that one working out for you.

Then there's non targeted cc, but you need a lot of mobility to keep up with zed, which limits you to LeBlanc and Yasuo, which are good choices but can be a lot less reliable.

You can try somebody a bit beefier but midlane isn't really too great for those kind of folks atm.

Ekko and fizz are good choices, but you still need a fair amount of experience on them.

tl;dr: Perhaps we should have more options against zed rather than just tuning his damage down.

He is fine in the sate he is, his deathmark can be contered by many items that ap and ad champions can both buy, item 3157 item 3140 his energy shouldnt much of a problem since after he uses 1 combo (e+w+q) he has no mana left. The only thing that could be lowered is his shadow's range which was buffed a few patches ago and everyone started to complain about him being too strong.

That may be true but it could be a good way to make sure if he's in a balanced state or not. So i guess the most annoying thing about him is that he can poke from range so just nerf that. Good zed players should still be able to play him properly and not just anyone being able to play him at his fullest potential

i feel like there should at least be SOME punishing aspects of using your shadows badly. i've been towerdived by a Zed who (obviously) blew me up under my tower, ran almost out of tower range, and then blinked to the wrong shadow which was right under my tower, taking 2 additional tower shots, and he lived and got out ez

maybe he should take more damage after swapping with a shadow for a short time by maybe reducing his MR and armor by a small, flat amount for 1-2 seconds after swapping to a shadow. it wouldn't matter most of the time, but if you stupidly shadow on top of someone and don't actually have a plan to blow them up, they may be able to punish you for it.

alternatively, if there were a mechanic similar to Poppy's W that functioned for blinks it would provide a bit of counterplay to not only zed, but the rapidly-blink-everywhere playstyle in general

make his passive not proc on minons... BOOM, its harder for him to free farm under tower... FIXED

Kennen does have his Q to farm as he pleases since you can easily last hit with it, akali can poke with her low cooldown Q and refunds energy if you activate the second part of her Q, shen with his new rework can easily win lane and gets a shield every time he uses an ability and he can win a 1v1 when using his passive correctly even though he is a tank. I dont uderstand what is wrong with Zed in that regard when the others ninjas have the same safety. And for Akali, she can be poked down in the early game but after level 6 she can have the lane all to herself, no one will try to risk farming against an akali who can 1 shot you and be sticky as hell.

In all honestly all i see is you trying way too hard to defend zed.

It is true that I am trying to defend him because i dont think he is too op but he is a lane bully right now and has mobility giving him a lot of power taking in consideration he has high damage ratios but i believe that he only needs to be nerfed a bit to be viable but not as strong as he is currently. But i am probably exaggerating right now i shold be more open minded rather that just staying with one idea. I guess I should actually accept what is the real problem and it truly is that he is way too strong right now... anyways thanks for making me realize my mistakes i really appreciate it (btw im english isn't my foreign language so pls dont hate on my grammar mistakes) :3
