I Find Yasuo early game too oppresive

Deus Imperator··75 votes·4,960 views

I mean, the guy can pretty much use your minions as a surfing platform, try to get CS and he will simply dash in, AA you or skill you, kill minions with the dash or dash out

Oh try hitting with ranged? Nope, say hi to wind wall

try to outpoke him? he has a shield passive

the worst part is, he has infinite dash uses on minions, Why?

I am a yasuo main and I do agree with this. Its easy to shove lane and just out cs anyone. However, yasuo is so easy to gank and hes a terrible roamer unless you have knock-up synergy. One tip I can give you is once he uses his windwall go in on him because its a high CD.

On a side note.... I think Yasuo needs a rework so hes a bruiser fighter top and less of an insta burst yi/xin combo.

I think the bigger issue is that his counters are not common in mid lane, while champions he counters are very common in mid.

TroyTheUnconquer2 votes

PSH, i play annie almost every game, tell me his counters arn't common again?

Knoyle4 votes

She isn't that common because nearly any other mid laner will poke her to hell and back with superior range.

You know, this makes me wonder sometimes. Why can't people just lane swap? Just because you go mid doesn't necessarily mean mage/assassin. I know it's not quite "meta," but why not take an advantage you couldn't get if you played it by the book?

Ralanr1 votes

Beats me. When I thought a Vayne was going top, I asked my buddy to swap lanes with me. So instead of getting poked by an Ezreal (they had two marksmen, I did not expect Ez top though) all day in lane, I got to bully a Veigar.

My friend playing Zed said it was the easiest lane ever.

I think some people don't like swapping lane as they feel they'll lose an advantage.

B-but...

I don't even know anymore. If it's not going to hurt you in the overall game (yeah, top lane doesn't get levels as fast as mid does... assuming you're not dead), then you can have less of a headache overall with a decent lane swap...

I feel like his shield altogether should be removed. I just don't see the logic in giving him a shield. It doesn't fit with his identity as a highly offensive hypercarry, and it just isn't fun to play against either. Yasuo's weakness should be lane bullies and his early game shouldn't be that great for his mid and late game damage potential.

Tsen1 votes

The flow mechanic is pretty interesting tho, maybe instead of giving him a shield for somereason, have it allow him to use windwall when it's maxed?

n give him a new passive .-.

(I don't play him, don't take me too seriously. :<)

LankPants9 votes

I'd say let it be his resource. It feels like that's what it was originality meant to be anyway then CT decided his kit wasn't BS enough and he needed another passive.

SwiftKitten889 votes

most yasuo i face dont know how to use this knockup on his dash.. and if they don't do that, i find him fairly easy to face, just send 1 auto his way every time he gets his shield up to knock it down, and after a 2 second wait, it will fall off and u can poke him for normal damage... if the yasuo DOES know how to use the knockup on his dash... then i cant beat him either, so i cant help u there.. but lucky for me 90% of the yasuos i face DON'T ever do that

lolptwo7 votes

What needs to happen to Yasuo is a visual nerf, The opponent needs to be able to see his E'd minions, not just him. What this does is a strategic buff for the opponent knowing which minions Yasuo has already used up. Then zone him accordingly.

Spaceman5pff1 votes

And, a line on the ground following his big tornado. It is incredibly difficult to see the path it is taking given the visual nature of the game, and a line of where it HAS been would very much help. Same goes for Janna Q

Astôlfo1 votes

Or, you could just look at it and avoid it like any other skillshot?

Spaceman5pff1 votes

Thing about that is that due to the swirling nature of the ability, and the angled view of the game partially obstructing the point of ground contact, it is very difficult to predict this path precisely, this is especially true with Yasuo tornado as it appears to grow in size as it travels.

To clarify, I would only ask for something small, like a dirt path on the ground trailing the tornado, similar to the way malphite Q leaves a trail behind it as is travels.

Astôlfo1 votes

Ah okay. That makes more sense. I thought you meant as in showing where its future path its on would be.

Spaceman5pff1 votes

Nah, bro. That would be super lame.

Ruin Lance6 votes

if he is spamming his dash as you say he is then that means he is pushing the wave so that your jungler can easily gank him. also, his wind wall has a 26 second cooldown at rank 1 and his passive shield can be easily popped with 1 auto so don't get me started about how it's impossible to poke him down

swordishforce6 votes

except unless you can unload all your damage the second his wall is down then he's probably going to just dash through the minions to avoid your skillshots and get away from the danger zone til his shield/wall are back up

Astôlfo2 votes

Uh, except he can't dash backwards through his own minions.

Stars Shaper2 votes

Because windwall has 1 sec CD.

Arakadia1 votes

One AA won't pop his sheild completely, although it will bring down the sheild.

Ruin Lance1 votes

that's what i mean by pop

Robbit Mang6 votes

annoying- yes, oppressive- no.

only a handful of champions lack the tools to punish him for shoving the wave using his E, and even so you can just get your jungler to help you. He has no escapes and his E will naturally nuke the creepwaves.

typical I have absolutely no idea how to lane against Yasuo so I'm qq'ing on the boards thread(I have 210k mastery on Yasuo)

ok dashing if he over dashes to minions he will perma shove the lane enjoy your free xp easy cs and easy lane win(also easy ass ganks if your jungler is a little bit decent because yasuo has no mobility outside of a minion wave and if its shoved he has nothing to dash back to)

windwall has a 20 second cool down he simply cant windwall everything... if he wastes it punish him

shield... again takes a while to stack, pop it every time its up(easier if your ranged...and if he windwalls a ranged auto punish him because he cant block your abilities), reasons why you can wreck him with Varus(if you have some mechanical ability i.e ability to orbwalk)

dont stand still in a minion wave walk in kill minion walk out...and again dont stand still makes auto weaving extremely easy...a good Yasuo will never stand still neither should you

number one mistake...no one pays attention to his stacking... oh Yasuo has flow shield whirlwind(Q) and e stacked(and shiv if he has it)... seems like a good time to walking right up to him...if he has everything stacked wait a second the stacks only last a little bit

etc etc

[slayer-pantheon-thumbs] EDIT: also play Diana(or any Juggernaut) you will smash his face

Edit 2: want to know how to wreck yasuo...CC simple as that... Naut late game = useless Yasuo (but any hard cc in general)

Edit 3: OMG I CANT OUT RUN HIM BROKEN MOBILITY...run into the jungle not through your minion wave again no minions to dash to no mobility

Ok if you are really helping then I will ask you a question. I stopped playing Diana mid because 3/5 games I played were against a Yasuo and I lost every one. How exactly do you keep up with him early? If I try to shield his damage and trade with Q I run out of mana every time. Also keep in mind at the elo I play at junglers are nothing but AFK farmers so ganks aren't a thing, this is purely a 1v1 scenario.

so early

pre 6 you really dont just play safe and farm to 6...it's similar to Malaphite into Quinn(Quinn will bully pre 6 but at level 6 Malaphite dominates her)

but once you hit 6 you dont really wanna trade poke with him he will just life steal up... you want to jump in throw out all your abilities and get out

the key to her counter is her ability to stick on him and out damage him quickly(also taking ignite is the best option imo)

its also means you have to be decent at Diana which just takes time to get in tune with her kit

but generally you wanna q yauso then go in... the combo is kinda like Q R W(casting w early will allow it to absorb maximum damage and will hit all 3 orbs) E R(r is reset if you land your first q) , and then procing your passive and ignite will generally completely out trade him...and then if i think i can get the kill I will kinda jsut face role my keyboard until hes dead, otherwise I will walk out(or dash out if my r is back up)...so QRWER

so you out damage him(burst mage) then your e will keep him in place(which limits his mobility in minion wave) and then your R reset will allow you to dash right back on top of him if he starts to get away

but more so you cant be dieing to him pre 6

also here is a REALLY good guide on Yauso it covers how to play him but also completely wreck him in lane(i believe he gives a annotation in the video to jump right to the countering)...it covers it really well

It's not infinite, it's limited to the amount of minions available within a 10-6 second time frame.

Thing is, this stupidly annoying early game, alongside his resourceless CSing is all that Yasuo has going for him (which is why he needs a rework). You can play like a complete coward during the early game, missing what CS you have to and slowly but surely start poking or flat-out outtrading him.

At the end of the day, he's still a melee character, offering minimal siege and very prone to getting targeted with CC in fights.

Make him waste windwall and keep in mind his dash has an internal cooldown if he already targeted something with it.

play yasuo, get good at him, figure out what makes him strong, then try fighting him again. it's easy when you know exactly what he's gonna do. bait his wall, then murder his face after it's down.

he will simply dash in, AA you or skill you, kill minions with the dash or dash out

Yes this is what happens when all you do is trying to AA minions with mages

Oh try hitting with ranged? Nope, say hi to wind wall

Projectile =/= Ranged and also Wind Wall has 26 secondsCD at rank one.

try to outpoke him? he has a shield passive

If you happen to get hit by a telegraphed skillshot and still fail to punish his attempts to farm (or when there is none of your minions around) it's your fault and you should get punished for it. Also any poke skill will delete his shield after level 4. Plus, you might not know that but you can make him waste his shield with 1 AA.

the worst part is, he has infinite dash uses on minions

Except he doesn't. He cannot use his dash on the same target for a lot of time, he isn't invulnerable while dashing and you can predict where he is going to end his dash. Plus, you can also check his available targets and play around that. Also that's on enemies, tells us a lot about how much you know what you're talking about.

This whole thread can be densified in: "I shoot random things at Yasuo and he doesn't die, when I try to farm he hits me.. it hurts.. please nerf!".

But since this is Yasuo hate it well get upvoted.

Edit: Downvotes without answers = Not having arguments and just proving my point.

LatetotheRace1 votes

I'm pretty sure the OP and everyone who downvotes you disagrees. Why? Because they don't want an explanation of how you believe he is balanced, or isn't as oppressive as considered before.

In all reality right now Yasuo is a bit too strong both mid and top. He's a fighter with the possible burst of an assassin with a kit to match it. His excessive mobility is also incredibly difficult to deal with, and with his passive abusing warlords and other forms of lifesteal is just that easy.

Logically either his passive which is incredibly unstable has to go (both the shield and crit for something easier to work with) or the dash needs a longer cd without resets.

Also, defending hated champions is a pointless endeavor, and in all reality it doesn't help the game. If they're hated, there's probably a reason why.

Stars Shaper1 votes

If his power comes from outplaying the enemies then there is nothing wrong. If you think you can just play your game forgetting even which character you are facing then it's going to be a stomp from minute one no matter who you are facing. Even tank Teemo or mana regen Zed would be oppressive because you are not caring about your enemy.

I am not whiteknighting Yasuo I'm telling you how to deal against him, whcih are the mistakes ppl are making which make him feel oppressive to a point where you just need to write "Nerf Yasuo" to get 20+ upvotes. If there is an attitude that is toxic, not helping and not deserving any attention is exactly the one you are defending. The reason ppl are hating Yasuo is because they don't want to leran to face him, and this behavior doesn't help in any part of life.

Polluting the boards with posts full of misleading facts, lack of arguments, false informations and 0 feedback and discussion just because ppl are frustrated by their own incompetence and lack of commitment into a game (which requires it if you want to be succesful at it, be it LoL, Sonic or Hello Kittie Online) is just a way to intoxicate an already on-the-edge community and ruin the game giving the developers the feeling that a decently balanced character has to be nerfed.

LatetotheRace1 votes

"outplay" Is an easy and overloaded champion exists in a state which spamming his abilities is somehow considered "outplay" then there's a problem. "Polluting the boards with posts full of misleading facts, lack of arguments, false informations " People don't need information of arguments on what they know is broken.
