Having 6 bans wouldn't be a problem in the slightest
If Riot didn't decide to continually, arbitrarily break champions.
If Riot didn't decide to continually, arbitrarily break champions.
or if we didn't have like 139 fucking champions
*129
Don't get mad at him hes from the future.
So we're not getting additional bans at 139 champions in the future. It was so bad someone built a time machine to go back in time.
If Riot doesn't give us more bans I'm pretty sure skynet gets created and we all die to the machines.
I for once welcome our Machine Overlords.
Goddammit Malicious, I was gonna say that
league of legends has become a game of dealing with riot's fuckups
Become?
*becomed
It's became if you really want to be a grammar police
It's became if you really want to be a fun police.
Ftfy
I'm fairly sure "become" is correct too (note the "has")
Yeah, become is correct, "has became" makes even less sense.
Becomifization
league of legends has become a game of dealing with riot's fuckups
This guy! This guy right here, hit the nail on the freaking head! Sadly it's the harsh truth [zombie-brand-facepalm]
become is correct
i love how we cant have more than 3 bans (per team) because ''it would shit on whole champions pools'' but smite does it with way less champions and its fine..... you stole heroes of the storm champ select, chroma skins and mastery lvl but you cant steal that ? which is actually needed ?

This is the PC age, steal is such a 'triggering' word. Let us call it... "Modified Borrowing of ideals."
''inspiration'' XD
This stuff had been in development and ideation for quite some time. Just because it was released somewhat later doesn't* mean that the idea was stolen.
they can say what they want too many things at the same time from a new game isnt legit all been worked on...
You seem to underestimate how long a feature takes to make. None of those things you mentioned took less than six months to make, probably even more. Not to mention, these are very uncreative features. Different colored champions. Flair for being dedicated. That's not something you could get copyrighted, let alone say somebody stole it.
yet heroes is out since june 2015, we just got the client changes, think they didnt have time ? lol right yeah chromas and mastery lvls could have been tought a while back but the champion select is way too similar to not be stolen
Well, Blizzard Games also has the word games in it, along with the letters R and I. That's over three fourths of Riot Games! Riot stole their name, too! It's not like these concepts are difficult or even creative, frankly. I'm sure they were all thought up in 2009, even before, and were just put on the back burner to flesh out. "Let's have different colors of champions!" "Good idea, maybe later. I'll put it down with better champion select and special stuff for dedicated players."
By the way, Riot has been doing recolors for way longer than chromas.
its not about being a better champion select, its about being the SAME champion select and they were skins, not chromas, nuance
lets be fair, champion mastery is so insignificant that it probably only took a week or 3 to be done
triggered
curious but...how or what did they steal about champ select? ooo..nvm the new and improved one...with the champs in the center..o lol
yeah but its not a bad thing, their old champ select was getting outdated as F, this one is great doesnt matter if they didnt 100% created it from scratch
Increasing bans to matter more in countering overpowered champions or strategies in team play would be pretty cool, but it'd also be pretty lame for potentially removing interesting champions away from one or two players
a lot of the ideas are not original and wouldn't put it pass riot to come up with them themselves. plus so much has been suggested on these boards, theres hardly anything that isn't influenced by something already posted. heroes of the storm could be said to take from countless other games as well. these are just standard features you see in countless games.
true, my point wasnt to complain that they took things from other games, they all do, and these are good changes, but my point was why not also get the part where they ban more champions

To be fair it seems to be more than a coincidence that league hastily added these features when other MOBAs had them from the beginning.
Feels like no matter what you ban (as bot three have ban privileges) something gets through that is just exhausting to deal with bc it's broken or OP or whatever else. It triggers me now when the ENEMY team uses stupid bans because that means there are even -more- open broken champs for them to pick.
There are no 'stupid bans'.
Bans ONLY matter... if you know BEFORE the Ban/Pick Phase the Strengths and Weaknesses of the Enemy Team.
So in Competition Play against Teams that actually have a history you can research of Comps, of Item Builds, of Synergies, of Weaknesses to Comps... yes, Bans matter. That team builds around a "Protect the Kog'Maw" Comp and is somehow weak to Split Pushers? Ban Kog'Maw and incorporate a Split Pusher into your Comp and you're almost to the W!
But those 5 people we don't even have user names for yet... we have ZERO information to go on.
So... then ban "OP Champs" is an idea. Cool, that's a theory. But what if the Enemy Teams sucks at those Champions? But you let through Ashe, who proceeds to go 30-0-10 on you because they happen to be insanely good at Ashe, who no one bans.
In other words, you have zero information to make an Informed Ban in the first place.
The idea is to ban champions that are experience ruining atm. Champs that make the overall match not fun just because they were picked, either through the anxious feeling because you can't prevent your teammates from giving them a lead or through limiting the amount of playable champs due to a need to hard counter them.
I understand that, and agree.
But there is really no Bad Ban. So some one banned Teemo... just your luck, Enemy has a guy that's 80% on Teemo. They ban Darius... no one on your team even plays Darius.
There really is no rhyme or reason to it outside of Team Competition.
I do agree to try to nuke out any of the annoying Champions, but define 'annoying'. Something super mechanical like Zed? Or something really easy (to play, not master) like Yi? Teemo is annoying... ban him? Couldn't Braum be called annoying with his Shield blocking all the incoming Ults? Karthus is annoying... but worth banning?
What Champs are universally 'unfun'? Your team mates might not be able to stop Janna from getting a lead... you don't know that until you get in game, being the point.
or you can strategize instead of ________ your head off
If only Riot could make perfect champions/items with zero flaws they wouldn't have to change anything- why can't Riot just be perfect so they don't have to change anything?
riot is afraid people will go into a game and just ban out 10 adcs leaving people to play out of meta picks, god forbid riot wanting to us to play meta ;^)
This is the silly argument people use seriously though. I mean its not like those ten bans are all the enemy team half of them is your team and you.
It's a fallacious argument anyway. There is no single role that has only ten champs. Ashe, Caitlyn, Corki, Draven, Ezreal, Graves, Jhin, Kindred, Sivir, Tristana. That's the first ten I could think of. Still, Lucian, Miss Fortune, Kogmaw, Jinx, Kalista, Vayne, Varus, Quinn, Twitch, and some others that are serviceable offmeta ADCs like Urgot, Jayce, Twised Fate, Kennen and Lulu. I'm sure there are other champs that I'm forgetting but it's irrelevant to my point.
You can break down any of the 5 meta roles like this and realize that ten bans doesn't even come close to wiping out a role.
the game is continuously changing. there will always be a "best" something. online gaming has been a thing for 10, 15, 20 years now? how is it people still dont understand this?

That's not the issue.
Like I said, Udyr and Akali happen. UNEXPECTED, but it will happen.
Blatantly buffing the shit out of Xin and Kog'Maw was completely avoidable though and I don't know what the hell Riot was thinking.
What would you do if we had 8 bans? Oh yeah, complain that the 9th and 10th best champions are now OP and that you still don't have enough bans. The same can be said for 10 bans. 20 bans. It doesn't matter because there will ALWAYS be champions stronger than others and you will proceed to complain that there are still not enough bans.
If there are 10 bans the meta will be defined by the 11th through 21st "best champions" or so and then you will all complain that champions 11-14 are OP and need nerfed. Adding bans will never sate your need to complain about Riot's balancing.

"Adding bans will never sate your need to complain about Riot's balancing."
No, Riot continually fucking up all this season is the only thing that's pissed me off.
I ain't mad about Udyr, because his rise to popularity was completely and utterly unexpected. Will I ban him? Sure. Will I blame RIot for that shit? Absolutely not.
Am I mad about Riot intentionally making MR much stronger and then buffing the shit out of ADCs? Yes. Am I mad about them saying, "Fuck it, let's break Kog'Maw"? Absolutely. And if they want to continue doing this to other champions to "cycle" metas then yes I want more bans to keep up with their antics.
There is a difference between Riot not prenerfing well, breaking champs intentionally, buffing for no reason, and viable champs that got stronger due to overall state of game.
Udyr syncs with everything. Thats ok. Tank Akali, though not the most healthy thing, is from current state of meta, so i wont complain.
Xin didnt need over buffs (good they nerfed a bit). Kog is broken, can be an unkillable machine gun. Guinsoo, nough said.
