My Problem with the Karma Changes, and a Possible Solution

Patch 5.10 notes

It's taken me awhile to figure out my main issue with the Karma Changes from Patch 5.10.

The big change was that they removed the damage component of her shield, which to a certain extent I understand (it makes no sense lore wise, but that's a different issue).

The problem with removing the damage is that it removed one of her large chunks of cool down reduction on her mantra. You could proc her passive off of most of the enemy team by using a mantra'd shield on a tank charging the enemy team. This would let you fire off another spell or two and get off a second mantra'd ability before the end of the fight.

That is no longer possible. I know they increased CD reduction from her passive, but it doesn't feel like it's enough. Even on ARAM, where you would think you would get the most procs of the passive, it has become harder to get two or more mantra'd abilities off in a team fight.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION Allow Karmas passive to count off the number of allies shielded as well. You would have the same effect as the old passive in a team fight (ideally) and increase the interaction in her kit between her abilities and her passive.

Please let me know your thoughts on this suggested change.

I don't generally have a problem getting multiple mantras off during a team fight?

I like it, but still would prefer the damage. If you were mid/top/support you would almost always use Defiance (R+E) to get guaranteed damage on their back line while beefing up your initiators. The bigger use of it was getting Mantra's CD up again ASAP so you could Q+R the back line. Honestly I'd welcome this change but the passive would probably get nerfed. A problem with her now is that she risks herself to get Mantra back up because he has to use a W in a fight if she wants to get a second mantra off.

Arguably new Karma has a much much easier time setting off multiple Mantras as long as she is interacting with the enemy.

A very healthy design tbh.

As someone who doesn't like "new" (she's been out for a while, she is basically karma now) Karma, she's fine.

The only problems I kind of have with her, is that she's mostly a Q bot now and I find her slightly boring now and then.

I remember how I rolled Karma in ARAM.

Only durning one match I wished about 20 times I could damage people with my shield.

Nope, Rito had to take that away after 3 years of me playing Karma.
