rengars passive needs a cooldown

why is there still nothing you can do against him repeatedly running into a bush, and jumping away whenever hes remotely threatened?

it puts you into a lose lose situation. either you run after him, and he just jumps past you with 1000 range on a minion and gets away, or just runs away through the bushes and gets away.

what can we do to fight this? i regularly warded into the bush he was sitting in, but in the end it didnt do anything, since it doesnt disable the passive. or hinder him in this playstile.

shit makes him far too safe. the problem is, that combined with his ult, it gives him incredible safety in lane and makes it easy to escape when hes threatened, and at the same time it secures him kills whenever hes ahead. i really hate champions like that. they can fuck up over and over and get away with it, and as soon as youre make a mistake yourself they get an easy kill off of it.

give him the same treatment as other champions, and give his passive a cooldown of 10/5/0 seconds. or drastically reduce its early game range in that manner. so his threat radius isnt 3/4 of the lane.

maybe then its actually possible to balance him.

  • Build armor to negate most of his Q damage (if you're a tank champ)

wards dont help against his passive. i did ward. he can still zone you. and he can use it to escape the same. wards dont disable the passive. they tell you what you already know in that situation.

"no escape". you mean except for his ult and passive. which both allow him to easily escape from ganks, or trades, that dont go his way. to be fair, im not even counting the slow/stun on his bola, since that actually has to be set up.

and leblanc doest have in combat sustain and is far more squishy. and even she has a fairly long cooldown in her w. leblanc also doesnt have infinite sustain. yes, shes a bitch to deal with, but that doesnt make rengar any better. "this champion is completely broken, mine is just op" is not an argument. hes repeatedly had horrible balance problems since his release. hes has broken both, solo que and competitive gaming in the past.

maybe its time to take a look at the one aspect of the kit they didnt touch yet. which is his passive.

fact is, his kit makes him far too powerful in lane. maybe if his early game got some drastic nerfs, it would open him up for some lategame buffs. i dont even want changes to his all in potenial. i just want him not to be able to escape by hitting r in case he fucks up. or just run into a bush to be out of reach in very early duels.

his leap has either far too much range, or far too short of a cooldown very early on. id prefer they just nerfed the cooldown, so its not too hard for him to deal with ranged champions.

You could..stop being a total wuss and actually fight him? His leap is no different from him walking up to you and AAing. Pick Darius/Nasus/Garen/Cho etc. and just beat the shit out of him. IF he runs then let him(if you can't catch) and just zone him..it's not hard.

dont you get it? thats just the point. if you fight him, and you win, he runs. he gets away because of his ult and passive too easily. hes too forgiving to play when he makes a mistake, compared how quickly he punishes you for being out of position yourself.

if i let him run away, he spams a couple of bolas and heals up on his w. then the entire shit starts all over.

how many times do i have to repeat myself?

His passive isn't a good escape mechanic if you have a ward in the bush he goes into. His ult isn't either since taking damage delays it..or you could just buy a damn pink ward for when he ults. Like holy cow who were you playing? evelynn?
