lol that Soraka gutting on PBE

I thought you said that you weren't going to eve/olaf champions anymore Riot.

This change right here will destroy her:

New Mechanic "If Starcall damages a champion Soraka gains Alignment, restoring up to 30/45/60/75/90 (X AP ) health and 20/30/40/50/60 (+X AP) mana over 5 seconds." (unfortunately can't get values!)

Assuming this is a regular buff that can't stack on top of each other multiple times, this means that Soraka can't heal a decent amount during combat anymore. And unless that AP ratio on it is insanely high she will be practically impossible to use effectively.

At this point if you pick her you're basically trolling.

To be perfectly honest, I don't think people realize just how much of a nerf this is.

Currently she is one that gets banned 70% of the time for a reason. This change will help against that

They could have just nerfed her W base healing and gotten the same effect.

Don't forget to mention the part where if you have to heal your ally, your entire HoT goes over to them. Haha. Great stuff.

Though, the tooltip on her heal doesn't say it costs 10% of her health anymore... but I'm sure it still will.

Water Breathing3 votes

lol the AP ratio on Alignment is only 10% for both parts

So rank 5 Q heal is 90 + 10% AP over 5 seconds

on Live her self heal at a MINIMUM is 65 + 40% AP PER CHAMPION HIT

It's almost like Riot wants all Soraka players to build Warmogs

I don't see how this makes her consistently worse. I only play Soraka and Janna when I play on the Rift, and I don't depend on my heals in combat. Her ability to heal her allies is stronger in lane (and has mana, too!) and now she can max her Q first to get good heals AND poke in lane.

Because you don't play against good players who hop on you first and landing multi Qs means life or death and the success of your team.

That argument could be made for Bard, and Soraka's winrate is much higher than his

No it can't because they're 2 entirely different abilities.

They are both healing supports with situational hard CC, harass tools in lane, and game changing teamfight ults

That's like saying Nami, Bard and Soraka are all the same fucking champions, which they're not.

Pretty damn similar considering they all do the same thing

I wouldn't say her ability to heal allies in lane is stronger. Her W will only heal 70 at rank 1 now. If you max W 2nd, her heal will be much weaker in lane.

You get the 70 (+AP) instant PLUS the 60 (+AP) over time that you got from maxing your Q. You actually wind up ahead, even without the increased heal ratio.

That's only for healing an ally, that's not what I'm saying is the issue.

I wasn't talking to you; I was addressing Penguin Eclipse, who said that her ability to heal her allies in lane would be weaker.

Yes because being practically unusable is not the definition of a gutting lol.

I just don't like the fact you HAVE to give up your self healing in order to heal others, and the fact it doesn't stack.

If I want to heal myself, I can't heal others while I'm healing. Why can't I choose to heal without giving over the buff?

This discourages Soraka from actually healing people

Or you could let it heal you for almost the entire duration and then pass it to your lane partner right before it expires. double the healing for what it's supposed to actually do

Yeah that's fine and dandy for lane sustain, but for in combat fighting that's impossible.

Water Breathing2 votes

Yeah, let me just not heal anyone for 4.9 seconds in a teamfight....great idea.

I know what they are trying to accomplish, but this is terrible gameplay for Soraka

Yosuke Apperu2 votes

Instead of instantly posting complaints on the boards... lets wait for it to actually come out and see how it works out..hm? By now you should know that things on paper don't exactly play out as they should in a real game scenario.

Why? Caster ADCs like Corki or Ezreal or Lucian will love the mana return from the new W mechanic, and getting the slow on every part of the Q evenly instead of having to bullseye it is a huge buff in way of consistency

Who cares about a shitty mana heal that'll only be (barely) useful during laning phase. This is about post laning phase where you need to land Qs to remain relevant at all. And please if I cared that much about a consistent slow (I'm pretty consistent with my center hits now so this is basically a nerf to me anyways) I'd get a rylai's, which funny actually slows for more now since the slow doesn't scale with rank.

Lots of old Soraka players care about the mana heal.

I am an old Soraka player, and yeah I liked infuse. But I'm not willing to give up a huge portion of her teamfighting for it.

With a good adc you can heal/mana them up like crazy, then rotate to mid and transition a lead up there while your adc gets some solo lane XP. If things go tits up in bottom lane you wish and go back to bottom lane. I miss old Soraka :(
