What's the context of the Yasuo mr buffs?

Isn't facing mages pretty much the only area he has success in? It seems like the only area of his kit that shouldn't have been addressed?

Due to mr loss during runes reforged, he is getting them back due to him having a low success rate in the lanes he is supposed to be winning.

Hm, I thought laning phase against mages is kind of where he excelled

He's also a good splitpusher. The only reason he's not as good as tryndamere/jax is because he has no real escape

I suppose I should have specified mid lane Yasuo, which is 100% my bad. Fixed it in the op. At the same time though, mr isn't gonna really help him in the top lane except matchups like Maokai, Singed, and Teemo...I'm not sure if there's any other relevant top laners tbh.
