Starting on Day 1 of Season 6 after your first Upvote/Downvote/Post on G&B
You have 3 months to get to Gold and if you have not reached Gold by that time you will be locked from upvoting/downvoting/posting on G&B until you do so. Note that the timer starts from your first post and not on Day 1 of Season 6 so even if you made your first upvote/downvote/post halfway through the season you still have 3 months to get to Gold before your account is disabled. This will give everyone a chance to post their thoughts on Balance in the beginning of the season and gives them time to prove whether or not they actually know enough about the game to post or comment on things related to the balance of the game.
This makes it so more knowledgeable players can post and comment on things without having the lower elo player base that knows much less about the game skewing everything and causing ripples in the balance of the game. This would stop most of the circlejerking caused by lower elo players which fill the section with hundreds of meaningless "Nerf Yasuo" or "Gut Riven" or "Akali is still OP" or "Buff X Mage" that have peopel throwing out random statistics without knowing the context behind them.
We have seen this trend on this board throughout this whole season through things such as the never ending "Nerf Yasuo" threads or the endless buffs to Veigar due to QQ causing him to become completely bonkers, Lux buffs causing her already high winrate to spike up to the top of the charts, the juggernaut update coming out completely gamechanging op because people thought the updated champions were going to be gutted on release, random Assassin nerfs due to QQ, and so on and so forth.
The thing all of these trends have in common is that almost all of them have come from the less knowledgeable low elo circlejerk that doesn't really have a good grasp of what the game is like to have a realistic opinion on the matter. Without the low elo circlejerk cluttering everything up this board could be utilized for some great balance ideas that wouldn't be drowned out by the less knowledgeable playerbase.
Believe it or not It took me about 1000 ranked games to get from Silver to Gold a season or 2 ago and throughout my whole journey I thought to myself "Man I'm the shit I know everything about this game" when I honestly really didn't. I was under what is called the Dunning Kruger Effect which you can read about more by clicking on the link. When I finally reached Gold I realized that in fact wasn't "The Shit" and finally accepted the fact that I still had a lot to learn about the game. This is a big trend with the lower elo playerbase and you will really only to come realize this when you get to Gold+ elo because it's honestly pretty hard to see yourself as not the best at something you do because of human nature.
No TLDR for this post. Thanks for reading.
