Autofill still isn't healthy, and never will be in a competitive environment

I don't care how many down votes each of these threads gets, autofill is utterly a garbage system to have in ranked.

I don't understand how Riot thinks it's okay to purposely miss match teams because matchmaking didn't want to wait a couple more minutes for a balanced game. Don't give me this bull shit about "ooooo, but then ranked queues will take 10-15 minutes". No they fucking won't.

You know how if a boxer has been fighting for 3 years, and goes against a rookie that's just starting out, the boxer that's been fighting for a while will win the bout 9 times out of 10 unless the rookie lands lucky hits?

Same thing here, I've played mid since season 3, if I play my Orianna or Cass into someone who's autofilled mid, do you know what the score is going to look like at 20 minutes? They will probably be 30-50 cs down and have a good amount of deaths. Why? Because they don't have the mechanics with mid lane champions, nor do they know power spikes or which items are optimal for the given situation.

Do you know what happens when a person who has mained jungle for a while, goes against someone that doesn't jungle? The person that has mained jungle will more than likely win, because he knows better jungle routes, he knows which camps to do to hit levels and gank at certain times and control objectives and pressure lanes. What will the autofill do? He will do a standard clear, and wait for one of his lanes to be at tower, and try a gank at the enemy laner, he won't have much more knowledge beyond that. He won't be able to predict where to counter gank the other jungler, because he has absolutely no knowledge of clear times or where the enemy jungler might appear next.

Same thing with support, same thing with top lane, same thing with adc.

This is not healthy at all.

In football, do you ever put a fat ass defensive tackle at corner to cover a wide receiver? NO, THE RECEIVER WILL BLAST PAST HIS SHIT AND BE IN THE ENDZONE BEFORE THE FAT ASS CAN EVEN PIVOT.

I think autofill is trying to achieve a middle ground where you can usually play your main but sometimes you need to play an off role. Its better if they do it one way or the other 100% either you can always play your main or you have to be able to play all 5 roles (like early seasons)

the blind draft ranked was better that was 100% fair you dealt with what you got and tbh i never supp as much there as i did for the teambuilder type ranke that you all wanted and gee que times when up becuase no one wants to supp and realizing it they didnt pick it....before the autofill protect i got supp just on autofill liek 97% of the time in season 6 now why was that? ohh wait becuase no one lieks to supp

Playing an imperfect match is always better for evaluating player ability than not playing a match at all. This is a logical fact that cannot be disproven.

It's designed with the top of the ladder in mind. The idea is that there are situations where having someone with more skill at the game as a whole is better than continuing to reach downwards into worse and worse players for someone who mains that role. A team with Diamond 1 players wouldn't be very happy with a Plat 5 Mid, regardless of if he mained the role. They'd likely do better with a Diamond 1 Top/Jungle main who was Auto Filled Mid, but who knew more about the game as a whole and could play safe.

Autofill is perfectly fair in a competitive environment. Especially ones that want queue times lower than 5 minutes.
