Best build path for taking out tanks?

What are some ideal item builds for taking out tanks? I see people struggle a lot against tanks, and I'd like to see some creative ideas!

On what role? For most adcs its bork, ruunans lw/cleaver ie whenever, for fighters its bork, if they can use it into whatever depends on champ, for mages its sorc shoes liandries void/and or rylais.

For fighters, usually it involves Bork and BC as your primary damage items.

For ADCs it's Bork, lord Doms, and some crit items (lord Doms is probably your last item).

Items should always be situational. I see too many players building standard items that are completely inappropriate for what the enemy team comp is and what they are building. I have seen players rush MR against a fully AD team. I'm assuming that's what they always build and don't bother to check the enemy items or comp.

Tanks don't always build the same way. Some prefer more resistances while others prefer health.

AD - BORTK for health burning, Lord Doms for armor + health, Mortal Reminder for armor + healing (self or teammate), Black Cleaver for armor plus self health or when you can stack it quicker with attack speed or damage stacking spell.

AP - Liandry's for health burning and/or MR (add Rylai's for more burning), Sorc Shoes and Void Staff for MR, Morello for anti-healing once you get them low enough.

You don't have to build the full item right away. A Last Whisper will give you armor pen early while completing your core items. You can build it into something as your last full item.
