Seriously, why is Ekko's attack animation so painfully slow?

For a melee champion whose supposed core was sustained damage--corroborated by his passive and utility load--his attack animation feels like drunk Karthus.

Whatever door or window you used to enter this thread, get the hell out.

I don't want your horrible whine stories about how Ekko killed your men, raped your women and purged your lands with fire and salt. I can get those in a hundred other threads on this very same forum.

The point of my thread went over your head. I'm so surprised. Not.

Also no. You see, you had a opinion based off his animations

What opinion was that? His opinion was the animations, and had nothing to do with the balance of the champion.

No, I don't see how the spell-based damage output of a champion correlates with how their attack animations should behave. If there was such a correlation, Karthus would have been 100-0ing people for a while now.

False.

If you had an opinion contradicting my opinion, you would be saying, "No, Ekko's attack animation is fine." That would be contradicting my opinion. And, in that case, I would have not cared much; it would be the kind of opinion I wanted to hear.

You just threw in an off-topic subject, and I despise red herrings and batshit.

Probably because his W's passive makes farming with him piss easy.

You can't have everything.

That doesn't make sense. There are several champions with attack effects that make last-hitting easy.

And generally they pay for it with kit budget like JarvanIV , or are on the ''hate to play against, Riot loves them'' category like Zed.

J4 has always been considered, at minimum, balanced. A few months ago, he was being called OP, even though Riot didn't really nerf him and his popularity dropped anyway.

I personally don't mind fighting Zed. Maybe it's because his fighting style isn't that different from Katarina's, aside from the shadow gimmicks, but it's just a different lane to face. Melee assassin with ranged Q, not like we haven't dealt with that for years.

Personally, I think something is wrong with justifying that a melee champion's attack delay is too long by saying, "His kit tho." Yes, his kit is kind of focused on using basic attacks, so having the core part of his kit fuck himself over isn't very satisfying.

Voluug131 votes

Actually, its probably intended, just like Quinn has terrible AA animation because her passive makes farming even easier.

And yeah, my point is that J4 is balanced, and most of the time has always been, and the farming capabilities of his passive has always been accounted in his kit's budget.

So why not balance the last-hitting instead of making people feel like shit for trying to kite, but mis-timing it by a tenth of a second?

Never mind that Quinn is the only other example of a champion with an on-hit effect and a terrible attack animation--one that players have also asked Riot to smooth out--why not just balance the on-hit effects directly instead of punishing orb-walking?

its slow? i didnt find any problems with it as far as it isnt twitch katrhus or kalista levels of slow you shouldnt mind

I've consistently had problems with trying to attack and move. With most champions, it's not hard to start the attack, then click to move after the attack lands--basically kiting; even if he's melee, it helps--but on Ekko, I'm consistently missing the part where the attack lands. I'm not sure whether it's the animation beating the actual hit, or if I'm just moving faster than the animation, but either way, it's frustrating.

I didn't write anything about Ekko's balance. That was not the discussion point of this thread. It still is not the discussion point of the thread. I do not give a damn for your opinion of his balance, because I did not ask for your opinion of his balance.

You are unwanted in this thread. Let that register in your brain. Reread the sentence a few hundred times, if it takes that long to sink in. You are unwanted in this thread.

Yes, I'm an introvert in person, but I'm not afraid of speaking my mind. Never mind the irony of making such a statement on a forum, which points at yourself just as much.

The moment that you said your only purpose here is to annoy me after blathering your worthless opinion, you've basically told me that I can't get any valuable discussion from you, and that I should stop responding to you. So I will.

It's probably to stop him from becoming a Melee ADC. Clunky attck animation means he would have innefficient damage just sitting on someone wailing autos with an attack speed build.

JustMyBassCannon1 votes

...But he's a melee assassin. With particular emphasis on sustained damage. And basic attacks are the most basic form of sustained damage.

I feel that his kit should CERTIANLY be rebalenced to reduce his "quick" burst and give him nore focus on his autoattacks. Hell, they could make the AP ratio on his ult 70% (or... even remove the damage portion) if they fixed his auto animation and buffed his DPS potential. He SHOULD be more autoattack focused. He really should.

So should many AP champs, but that's besides the point.
