i'd never start playing LoL now if i was a new player

i remember when i was new in season 2... not that many champs not that many items NOT A NEW MID SEASON PATCH EVERY 2 WEEKS!

just think about it. who is riot actually patching for? casual players? no. the pro players? hell no. the lcs viewers? well i guess? they got new stuff to see.

but imagine if you started lol totally new again. you'd be LOST AS HELL since every 2 weeks, the meta changes so extreme. you cant even watch any youtubers for guides, because all guides are outdated in the next 14 days.

I would. And I started right around the start of S2/end of S1, but I'd still start and continue playing League if I started today. Because I genuinely find the game fun, even amidst the chaos.

^ Season 1 myself. Also @op its like 1 big patch per month sometimes, I feel your grossly Exaggerating the amount of change per patch here mate.

The game is dying because they think change is always good (Even though they swear it isnt). Old league was so fun, i have no clue why probably because i was new, but now since i know mostly everything and use to everything, its just like, what the hell happened. I feel like they are conforming to the new players and forgetting about all the veterans who are use to the old game

Change IS always good. First reason. You fuck up, you learn, You nail it, you learn. Mobas can not have a stagnant meta and thrive. Second reason, A fluctuating meta and balance results in more playstyles and champion picks enjoying viability resulting in a majority of all players having an opportunity to enjoy the game and be strong, Just as each change to the game upsets some one they also will please some one else, the player base is massive.

The games dying... yeaaaaa…. about that. I have seen that claim from season 1 onwards, every single year lol is "dying" a change riot made is going to "kill the game" Look players will come and go, some will stay the entire time others will quit before they ever hit level 10. Far as mobas go, League is still one of the best options out there and its the one I personally find the most fun consistently (I take breaks when I hit burnout and I play fewer games in metas that are unfavorable to me, turns out if you don't make the game a chore you have more fun.)

There is some merit in your complaint about conforming to new player but is that really a bad thing? You run the risk of having new player on your team every game, having league be more friendly to new accounts, quicker champion unlocks, removal of rune/runepage Ip sinks, EXP, Better learning tools, thats all a good thing imo. I don't like getting disadvantaged in a match from teammates, I don't think any one does going off the salt on boards. There is a gap between vets and newbies and I fully support efforts to bridge this gap more rapidly so long as it does not come at the cost of dumbing down the game. Looking at Pyke, and other recent changes to gameplay I don't feel thats happening currently. I don't want to win games simply because I have an old account with all content and some one else does not, thats not a reflection of me being a skilled player its just me being around longer.

I really encourage folks who are burning out, like if 3/5 games are not fun for you, Take a break. Wait for a few patches, come back only when you want to play again, like your fav champ got a nice buff or your fav item build has some buffs. Don't let the game turn into a chore. Otherwise your gonna hit that 5/5 games are not fun, grind away at that not enjoying it and finally give up and quit.

This game is designed for core gamers. They are between casual and pro.

I'm a core gamer. I take it seriously and I enjoy it, but I'm not insanely skilled at it (gold rn plat finish season 7).

The game takes some thought, but not a crazy amount. It's reasonable. If I started LoL again, I think I would have just as much fun discovering the game as I did when I started in Season 2. It's more polished now, and that's largely a good thing for most people, which is why it stays so popular.

League isn't dying. No one who says so is ever able to show any data to back that up.

Meddler has addressed the wild shifts during the midseason and acknowledged that spreading them out did not work. They won't be doing it again.

Anything else?

They need to adopt the TedTalk model.

The official, sanctioned TedTalks, and then the Tedx talks. One gives a little more flexibility than the other. Riot cannot wrap their head around something taking away from ranked. I'm honestly shocked they haven't scrapped bots or TT.
