Somebody explain how they enjoy playing mid

Title. I have no idea how the hell anybody enjoys this role. I've tried every other role and mid is by far the least fun. The most viable things in mid right now are assassins. Mid seems to be a "oh you wanted this cs" but you die. You can bitch about top, but at least 2 top laners don't use 3 abilities to kill one another, it actually takes a few seconds. Mid just seems to me to be by far the WORST role. You can tell me that it has the most map influence and preach about whatever macro stuff you want, but that doesn't deny the fact that it seems like mid lane is just a one shot stimulator where once the enemy gets a kill your lane is over. Somebody please tell me what is fun about this position, I just don't see it.

You just have to be able to play a champion that can handle whichever assassin you are playing against and always ban Akali . She's the only assassin I've not had success in finding a decent counter, that isn't to say one doesn't exist, she's just incredibly hard to pin-down and/or predict for me at any rate.

Against Zed I've found Zilean Kayle work well. Against Talon I've found Annie Karthus Veigar work well. Against Katarina I've found TwistedFate Malzahar Kayle work well, anyone with a hard stun should be able to do the job though. Against Diana I've found and Ahri do well.

Take that for what it is worth to ya.

I like mid because you've got a great deal of agency in the lane and you've got the potential to shape the mid and late game with some smart roaming.

Mid is one of the best roles.

ADC = Rengar Zed Malphite or any champion 1 shots your ass and you have no control over it. Your support can int and your whole lane is over.

Support = Your adc could possibly be a potato but you can help others

Top = Renekton Illaoi Darius Gnar Riven Vladimir nobody wants to play against that.

Jungle is mostly ok except Shaco Rengar Khazix The problem with jungle is that its way to much work to carry teammates and if you dont you will get flamed constantly.

Mid lane has some bullshit ( Malzahar Xerath Veigar ) but because its a short lane as long as youre not perma pushing and dying to ganks its easily the best lane to play.
