Ashe, the Frost Archer [Minour Gameplay Update Suggestion]

This rework is not going to change anything about Ashe, but will introduce some interactions with her abilities with other abilities. And for anyone that wants a comparison between my suggestions and what she currently is, here is the link to the wiki http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Ashe Now without further to do, let's get started!

Basic Attack Range: 600 units

Focus (Passive): If Ashe has not attacked in the last 3 seconds, she gains 4/5/6/7/8 (@levels 1/5/9/13/17) Focus stacks per second. At 100 stacks, Ashe will critically strike on her next basic attack. Thereafter, Focus stacks will reset to an amount equal to her critical strike chance.

Frost Shot (Q): Cost: 8 mana per attack Toggle: Ashe enchants her basic attacks with ice, slowing her targets by 15/20/25/30/35% for 2 seconds.

Passive: When Frost Shot is toggled on and Focus is readied the basic attack will stun its target for 0.5/0.75/1.0/1.25/1.5 seconds.

Volley (W): Cooldown: 12/10/8/6/4 seconds; Cost: 40 mana; Range: 1200 units Passive: Frost Shot applies a frost stack on the target for 2 seconds and stacks up to 5 times, for each frost stack on the unit Volley deals 10/15/20/25/30% increased damage. All units have zero frost stacks while Volley is on cooldown. [Volley deals a maximum of 150/175/200/225/250% damage at 5 frost stacks.]

Active: Ashe fires 7 arrows in a 57.5º cone, dealing (+100%Total AD) physical damage to each target hit. Each arrow will only hit one enemy, and each enemy will only be hit by one arrow. Volley also applies the current rank of Frost Shot, regardless of whether it is toggled on or not.

Hawkshot (E): Cooldown: 60/55/50/45/40 seconds; Range: 2500/3250/4000/4750/5500 units Passive: Ashe gains 3 bonus gold each time she kills a unit or destroys a structure. If Focus lands the killing blow Ashe gains 15 bonus gold instead of 3.

Active: Ashe animates a hawk to scout for her, granting sight for 2 seconds as it flies towards a target location. Hawkshot grants a 1000-radius area of sight for 5 seconds when it reaches its destination. The sight extends into brushes.

Passive: If Enchanted Crystal Arrow strikes a champion within vision range of Hawkshot then Hawkshot's cooldown refreshes.

Enchanted Crystal Arrow (R): Cooldown: 100/90/80 seconds; Cost: 100 mana; Range: Global Ashe fires a giant arrow in a straight line. If it hits an enemy champion, it will deal 250/425/600(+100%AP) magic damage and stun that champion for 1-3.5 seconds, based on the distance the arrow traveled. Additionally, enemies within a 250-radius of the impact take half the damage and are slowed by 50% for 3 seconds.

In general, I like the changes a lot. however, in all of them, you've just added power without taking anything away. When ashe gains, she needs to lose, too.

  • Why not just replace her passive crit with the stun?
  • If you're giving her e damage like that, you're going to need to increase its cooldown at later ranks.

It deals the same damage as your basic attacks- i removed the small amount of base damage on Volley- you do need to basic attack 5 times to get the maximum damage and the low cooldown on rank 5 volley is something that has always been there

Focus makes the most sense to be a critical strike passive Hawkshot doesn't deal damage

where do you think power should be taken away?

  • Wait, did you remove all of volley's base damage? If so, that's plenty of nerf to compensate. Maybe even too much; it means that if ashe does poorly in lane, she's going to have a hard time continuing to be relevant. It makes her more snowball-y and less consistent. If not, where are the numbers?
  • Why does focus need to be a crit passive/why do you think that makes more sense?
    • Adding the stun the the passive is a huge deal, considering you didn't remove the bonus crit. It means post-6 ashe can walk in to lane, stun someone for several seconds (more than enough time to get 5 stacks) and burst them with volley. Combining that with a snowballey champ (volley scaling) is not healthy, IMO.
  • Hawkshot doesn't do damage, but it does provide utility. That said, it think the skill's CD is way too long for its strength, considering it's usually maxed last, so this would be a welcome buff anyway.

As an aside, could I suggest formatting your post like this?

Because Ashe Focuses her shot to make sure she strikes the weak spot- and people always say her passive is weak so adding an interaction with Frost Shot and Focus i think will end up being a really huge buff to the passive.

As for Volley, I like this ability to feel like it is more of a long range AoE basic attack- 100%-250% damage is the same as a basic attack damage with infinity edge, Volley does reset your attack timer for that burst of damage- overall i did make volley slightly weaker early game and stronger late game... focusing on Ashe being a hyper marksman, and having the damage increase from Frost Shots emphasizes Ashe's role as the utility marksman and her damage comes from utility, in the case of frost shot buffing volley damage utility directly buffs her damage--- the target cannot move from slows and stuns also corresponds to utility converting to damage-

Ashe is still long range, so i doubt Ashe can be heavily denied minions and gold especially since she gets bonus gold from hawkshot the lower cooldown on volley in the early game may help her better to get safer last hits as well-- overall, i want to focus on Ashe's identity of high utility/cc and scary late game hyper marksman stat- than anything else and try to have her kit reflect that better (also frost shot in this variation applies frost stacks on targets that have cc/slow immunity, i did this so certain champions cannot be immune to the damage aspect of ashe)

For Hawkshot, i just wanted to show the interaction of hawkshoting first for the vision and then firing your arrow within that 5 second window- my changes of hawkshot between focus and enchanted crystal arrow are nice quality of life buffs but honestly do not do much for ashe outside of having some nice features to the ability - the real change is between focus and frost shot AND frost shot and volley
