What if Ghost made champions invisible, but kept the particle FX visible?

The particle FX would act similarly to how the Sweeper's silhouette works, letting enemies know the rough location of the Ghost'er. For sneaky stealth plays though, the particle FX could be pushed out so it trails farther behind the Ghost'ed champion (by ~1s or so.)

Thoughts?

Edit: Ghost 'now' simultaneously grants +30% movement speed for 5s and, after a 2s fade time, grants invisibility for 3s.

invisible means untargetable at the same time. Yeah, who would not want an assassin or burst mage to be untargetable for a few seconds, while repositioning themselves behind you to ohko you without counterplay.

'Without counterplay' -----> can see the Ghost'er approaching if you pay attention and are aware of your surroundings. Ghost'er can still be hit by AoE, allies can group with you, supports can do their thing.

But I take it you mean we need more ways to counter invisibility? I agree 100%. It's a shame Riot doesn't think so.

Don't like this. It'd become staple on junglers and for characters that roam. They could bypass popular warded spots undetected, only to come in right on top of whoever they want to kill since you can't use any targeted CC. Pass.

Wouldn't the solution be to add more creative wards that countered invisibility?

Why add mechanics to counter something that'll be broken upon being patched in?

Invisibility needs counters if it is to exist and thrive in League of Legends. Why would Riot remove counters to something that the community sees as inherently broken?

You misinterpreted my question. Why change Ghost to include invisibility, if it means we'll have to add said counters to invisibility? I don't feel like invisibility in its current iteration is a problem, outside of maybe Vayne.

To see more summoner spell diversity is a minor reason - it could potentially compete with Flash. The major reason is that it encourages stealth gameplay (it enables you to bypass and (ideally) outplay wards). It's also flavorful. To 'ghost' in a stealth game means to proceed without ever being detected, often without leaving any clue that you were ever there.

You are confusing me. You said:

And I said:

So you think it would be broken for Ghost to grant invisibility, even if there is a tell-tale sign, but you see no problem with invisibility, outside of maybe Vayne?

While I like the Idea for spoopy Azir and stealth shuffles, I can't help but feel assassins would love this a little too much.
