Janna is a squishy mage-style champion. Why does her passive put her at the frontlines of a fight?

I haven't played Janna in awhile but needing to do support I picked her and... holy shit, her passive. I knew the range was nerfed, but I hadn't heard about it only working when allies run TOWARDS HER.

Why the christ is this a thing? Janna is a BACKLINE support! If the team is running towards her, it either means the team is retreating which means they are probably losing, or it means Janna is in a bad position.

I believe it is for team mates to ESCAPE faster since janna IS the backline.

Janna has ALWAYS been a disengaging support, NEVER and engaging one.

She's a champ that likes to peel for her ADC. Her passive fits perfectly.

the passive is nerfed so you dont get movespeed advantage in lane and only an advantage when retreating behind janna. the passive change was a nerf so either be there when your allies have to run or just forget about it her W is now her old passive

It's actually a pretty big buff, imo. It allows Janna to help get her teammates out of sticky situations. I don't know why you see fit to identify a team that's disengaging as losing or in bad position, but nonetheless, she's one of the best at peeling.

Maybe I just use her wrong ten, because I tend to like throwing out proactive Gales and then shielding my ADC to give them free hits on the enemy.

That means they can escape faster, and with upgraded boots thats an 18% speed increase when running away

It's like a captain enchantment... that also stacks with the captain enchantment.
