I don't understand why mobile/evasive champs get to enjoy strong damage values

It just doesn't make any sense to me why so many of these champions get to enjoy high damage AND high avoidance, so they can effectively kill with impunity if played right, but other champs without equal evasiveness aren't given significantly higher and/or more reliable damage in trade off. Shouldn't someone who is less able to either dodge enemy aggression or swiftly move in for an attack be rewarded with significantly higher returns if they do manage to connect, compared to people who can more easily just dip in hit and dip out?

Immobile champions tend to have much, much higher damage.

Look at beefy hulks like Olaf, Trundle, and Shyvana. They're some of the least mobile champs in the game, but also fully capable of killing almost anyone in a straight up 1v1 duel, or at the very least living forever / walking away.

The "problem" with slippery & evasive champions is that they can reliably apply their damage, which makes it feel like it's more. Trundle can dish out easily double Lee Sin's damage over the course of 5 seconds, the problem is that no one is standing around to let trundle murder-fuck them like that.

This leads to a perception disparity, where people believe Lee does more damage simply because his is easier to apply. They also fail to take into account other factors, such as how insanely tanky trundle gets (while still doing immense damage + stealing stats), while Lee either builds full damage and dies when hit with a point-and-click CC, or bruiser / tank and is largely incapable of killing people on his own.

Mobility is a trade off with durability, not with damage? O_o What's the point of being mobile and dealing low damage? Running around the opponents in circle and doing nothing?

Mobile characters should be fragile and probably with low sustain to boot. You can argue that Riven spamable shield or Sylas big heal are out of place, or Pyke regen for instance. But they need to be high damage champs.

i mean. garen does a ton of damage when his close to you and so does mundo and malph and Olaf. so my question is what do u mean by avoidence?

Brand is a good champion in this regard

He has burst, DoT, CC, and AoE. But no mobility and he's super squishy.

Riven as much as I love her, she needs to lose some damage and keep her mobility, because she becomes tanky with her normal build by late game.

There's food for thought.

If you compare the damage output of a champion like Ahri with a champion like Veigar, you will see a drastic difference. The thing that frustrates people is that the mobile character still needs "enough" damage to function, and there's no benefit for the immobile champion "overkilling" someone.

Went as Annie against Irelia mid. Conqueror virtually allowed her to miss her stun every time and still Q to me and autoattack me to death.

I'm sick of being a short range CC mage this patch, mages that aren't high range poke mages feel like total garbage.

They trade off utility and cc for it.
