The best thing about new Essence Reaver

They should just revert it. Of all the Crit Items that were being problematic before the Big Nerf, I never thought ER was OP or needed to be changed. I hate the new one so much. I miss the old one SO MUCH as a Xayah player.

It's not worthless, it works exceeding well on people who can use it - it's a niche item, which is what all items should honestly strive to be. It's main problem is that Stormrazor outclasses everything, so as long as that item exists, Essence Reaver will always be eclipsed.

I think all it needs is some tuning.

The concept is cool; use your ult, and get a short window of badassery. It sells that concept pretty well. If they wanted to push it, maybe have you get a chunk of mana when Essence Flare activates, or reduce your mana costs while it is active, so that even if you activate it at low mana, you still get to spam spells for a while.

The root of the problem is Stormrazor. Why turn that B.F Sword into Essence Reaver when you could get Stormrazor, getting more sustained damage and mobility for less gold.

Already have Stormrazor? RFC synergizes so well with it that it'd be a shame not to grab that, too. After that, you're looking for a defensive item, not damage, so a GA, Bloodthirster, etc. is probably what you wanna go for.

Stormrazor needs a nerf, and maybe a slight buff to Essence Reaver to make sure its the better option in its niche. It's supposed to be for "caster" ADCs like Corki, Lucian, or Kai'Sa, not just for everybody.

The problem with Essence Reaver for ADCs is that only a few of them can make really good use out of Essence Flare.

If it had more mana % return it could be good on Ezreal. But I agree there is no reason so get this item over storm.

When, though?

The amount of mana it gives you back is laughable. You are either playing a champ that is mana hungry and gets tear anyway because it is just better, or someone who doesn't have mana issues. Whoever you play and get this item on, get team instead. your win rate will jump up.

They should just give ER its 20% crit back, as well as remove Srormrazor and it'll be fine. It would build like this:

Caster ADC (Lucian, Xayah, Sivir, etc):

1. Essence Reaver (20% crit)
2. Zeal item (50% crit)
3. infinity Edge (100% crit)

Non Caster ADC (Tristana, Jinx, Caitlyn, etc):

1. BF Sword into Zeal item (30% crit)
2. Infinity Edge (60% crit)
3. Zeal item (100% crit)

All ADCs (save for on-hit) will have a decent 3 item powerspike that can be tuned with individual scaling as needed. Get rid of Stormrazor and return ER to what it used to be.

It's bad on most people but on select champs like especially its too good, so i do expect it to be changed again.
