Then stop it? He appears in the same spot every time he alpha strikes so it isn't like it's super hard to hit him (works exactly like Zed almost) and if you DO CC him he just dies because he's made of tissue paper (especially since his current build is pretty squish).
The solution to dealing with Yi is to group and quite literally "git gud" and CC him. It's not that complicated unless you straight up fed him in laning phase.

if he's able to walk up to you then you've made a positioning error and it's positioning you need to work on if he's taking a direct path towards you you should retreat while throwing out the stun since the range of the stun itself is greater than the range of alpha strike if he's already in range to alphastrike it's safe to say you're dead

Stun Camille, and she can't do 1000 true damage with her 2nd Q. Stun Graves and he can't lifesteal 500 health with one auto-attack. Stun Malzahar and he can't flash ===> ult your ADC. Stun Nautilus and he can't ult your ADC. Stun Vayne, and she can't 360-no-scope-mlg-swag-1v5-gosu-god-mode your team.
The only real exceptions are Olaf, who can be immune but only with his ult, Fiora is she predicts your CC and times riposte correctly.
Now, you can break the CC with Gangplank, Rengar or Alistar, but that's not the same as completely denying the CC at all.
But yeah, circling back, you can't use "X champion can be CC'd" as a point regarding their balance, because they can ALL be CC'd.

some are more susceptible to cc than others tryndamere hasn't been seen in a team fight for quite a few years now despite his ultimate there's a good reason for that
