Qiyana, my look on her.

Qiyana is aiming to be the next difficult AD Assassin like Zed or Lee Sin.

That in itself is fine, but there's one thing holding her back from being... well, an assassin. Maybe you noticed, maybe you haven't. Her kit operates on auto-attacks mainly.

Now I've only played her for 7 or so matches, slowly changing the build I go ever so. Qiyana isn't a real AD assassin we all expected. She's a highly-mobile fighter. Her kill move is in her ult. If I had to say, her kit is similar to playing Renekton.

Now back to build speak.

Qiyana's auto attacks are powerful and massive in power. This led me to taking these items: item 3074 item 3812 item 3053 Mobility alone covers up for her weak defenses, and Qiyana; though is supposed to focus on one champion at a time, is best against 2 or 3. Ravenous' lifesteal and AoE damage helps her go from off-assassin to full on fighter. Healing and sustain during fights is a must on Qiyana. That said, Death's Dance is self-explanatory. Gage is mostly because unlike other assassins, Qiyana can single herself out during that small moment where her W is down. The only way she can disengage is with her W unless you can position yourself to E towards safety. So, the shield and what not is critical for her.

I highly reccommend one defensive item aside from Gage. Ideally, item 3025 or item 3742. Both can be used amazingly in Qiyana's kit.

Zed Difficult to play

Chose one. He may be hard to master, but he's almost Garen level when it comes to pick up difficulty.

Now, back to Qiyana. I actually like her current kit. She can assassinate, I've played over 20 games on her so far, and yes, she can burst quite well, but the added versatility of being a fighter is something different.

It forces you to chose how you approach targets: Burst them by going Q > W > Q not having an element to empower your autos or holding an element and using Q right before W is back up to empower the autos.

I like this, as it gives her so much versatility in what she can do.

She's not easy to play and I sure as hell don't want her to be. We don't need another Zed because players don't want to work for their kills.

Well she definitely makes quite the fighter!

I didn't say she doesn't, and I'm actually glad that she can and it's actually healthy compared to the older tank assassin builds.

For the moment, Riot found the nice balance between Assassin OR Bruiser. Her base damages aren't stellar, so she can't do what Tank Ekko did, if she wants to assassinate stuff, she needs to commit to Assassin items, but if she wants to, she can commit to fighter build instead and be a Bruiser, and due to how W and Q interact, she's not throwing spells of cooldown, as if she does, she loses her empower attacks, so she needs to wait on her W, so it's a pretty smart move.

That's something I like about her, she's more similar to Lee than Zed in that regard. She can chose what build to commit to and do that, but she's not forced into one build path every game.

Currently my favorite build for her is Skirmisher's Sabre: Warrior > Duskblade > Ghostblade > Death's Dance > GA, with either Tabi or Mobis, pref Mobis.

But as I said, her build paths are quite versatile. She's not Kai'sa, but she's not Shaco either.
