Jinx is cancer.

Jinx has had a 53% winrate for the last 7-8 patches and counting. Ridiculous mobility, insane range, aoe damage that procs runaans, a slow, a stun, a global ult that scales to 1000 damage lategame. She gets passive attack speed so she can rush IE and out damage every other adc, even draven. I just really don't get how she is fair to anyone that plays adc. Lategame hypercarries are okay, jinx is strong at every phase of the game and is also a hypercarry. Vayne is a perfect example of a hypercarry because she is absolute shit until she has 3-4 items. Jinx is unnecessarily strong at all phases of the game. If she has a support with cc, might as well surrender at 20. The problem isn't that she cant be killed. The problem is that to lane against her is hell, and she takes little to no mechanical skill whatsoever to play her.

Her passive attack speed needs to be nerfed Her rockets shouldn't proc runaans She shouldn't snowball as hard

  • 53% is not too bad tbh (sure, it's a little high but definitely not broken)...the fact that it's been consistent only shows that she hasn't been too bad/overpoweringly good for awhile.

  • Jinx has no reliable mobility (c'mon...you're gonna call her passive "ridiculous mobility"? lol)

  • AOE dmg reduces her attack speed and costs a steady inflow of mana? Damn...op op indeed kappa

  • A heavily telegraphed slow that forces her to completely stop...man...another op ability

  • Rushing IE on Jinx is a terrible idea. Everyone knows that BF Sword -> Runaans -> IE is the best start for her...

  • Sure, Jinx is advertised as a late game hypercarry but if you actually took the time to look at the stats, you'd see her win-rate falls at a steady pace throught the entirety of a game's length

  • ...You just used Vayne as an example of a healthy adc...have you not played the game recently or something?

  • Jinx isn't unneccesarily strong at all stages of the game...as I pointed out just a couple lines above.

  • A support with cc? I mean, not really.

In summary:

your post was full of both statistical and game play flaws in logic, poor understanding of her actual kit, as well as (imo obviously) bad opinions on what a healthy winrate should be.

And I say this from my perspective, not to insult you. Please don't be all ragey "how dare you disagree with me"

This is pretty much what I wanted to say but didn't want to type it all out😂 As an adc main this is 100% accurate

she maintains 53% winrate with almost 30% playrate. champions with high playrates usually have their winrates lowered to a lot of meta slaves jumping on the champion without really being practised on her.

53% winrate is actually gigantic in that case. champions have been nerfed for much less.

  • Jinx has no reliable mobility (c'mon...you're gonna call her passive "ridiculous mobility"? lol)

it triggers pretty reliable in teamfights, and she has utility and hard cc to make up for it.

her kit is incredibly overloaded. i dont understand why her w for example has such a high ad ratio, when its mainly supposed to be a chase/kiting tool.

really, what justifies the thing dealing THAT much damage?

compare her entire kit to Varus for example who is in my opinion one of the few balanced adc, since he has a couple of clear strengths and very clear weaknesses.

jinx entire kit outperforms him in almost every way. the long range and burst damage on her rockets alone outperforms his own q poke.

she is a swiss army knife who has practically everything in her kit that an adc wants.

Eh, that rule gets majorly overapplied. It's almost never true unless the champion is mechanically difficult enough for the new playerbase to majorly fuck up on them (and unless they're actually getting new players onto them, which is hard to say for a champion that already had a 20-25% playrate). Jinx has two very straightforward skillshots, no mobility to fuck up, and pretty normal autoattacking. "Hard" is not the word I'd use for her. She's also an ADC, and ADCs are all mechanically similar enough that AD carry mains can pick her up very easily, (assuming they weren't playing her some already). Besides, Jinx doesn't have an abnormal playerbase distribution. More than 75% of her players have more than 15 games on her. Looks like a lot of her playerbase isn't exactly green with her. I'm not not really seeing any real reasons to question her winrate.

Basically, in this case, 53% is pretty much just 53%. Overpowered, but only by as much as 53% normally is overpowered by.

it triggers pretty reliable in teamfights

she can't use even 50% of that mobility in a teamfight due to autoattacking...so it is really only useful for chasing targets or escaping from a losing teamfight. Not exactly "op" either due to being simply a decaying speed up...it's a pretty average mobility for adcs (Lucian Vayne Sivir Tristana )

Besides, Tristana's jump acts the same way and provides waayyy more usefulness in a teamfight/scap than jinx's speed up...would you call Tristana's jump op?

she has utility and hard cc to make up for it.

"utility and hard cc".... really now

She has 1 slow that forces her to stand in place and is extremely telegraphed and easy to dodge and a root that has both a cast time and and arming delay

Jhin Kalista Varus Ashe all have equal to or more cc than her that is more reliable and easier to land...

i dont understand why her w for example has such a high ad ratio, when its mainly supposed to be a chase/kiting tool.

Another example of not knowing the purpose of her kit. Jinx's W is more of a "chase/kite" tool because if she uses it to chase, she has to completely stop for a considerable amount of time to try to hit an extremely telegraphed slow that is easy to dodge. It's neither efficient nore reliable. If she uses it to kite...well...you should never stop when kiting so idk how you could argue that it's a kite tool.

It does a lot of damage because it's a risky and telegraphed poke to make. If you combine both of those drawbacks, it had better do some damage...

jinx entire kit outperforms him in almost every way. the long range and burst damage on her rockets alone outperforms his own q poke.

that's just a plane exaggeration. Varus isn't even the same type of adc as jinx, he provides cc and %hp dmg. He provides utility and poke over dps. His Q obviously does more than a couple of Jinx rockets

she is a swiss army knife who has practically everything in her kit that an adc wants.

You wanna know why she's strong? Numbers.

Everyone finds a strong champion and automatically starts blaming the kit instead of the numbers, because they only see the immediate situation without analyzing the things behind the whole kit. Her kit is fine and simple. It's easy and has clear limitations/drawbacks with each ability (mana loss for aoe/range autos, loss of movement for a telegraphed and delayed slow + dmg on enemy, delayed + cast time snare for slight self-protection).

If you wanted to give her a real nerf that still leaves her strong but only slightly reduces her strength, my suggestion would be to simply reduce her attack speed given from her Q + slightly increase the mana on her Q. That's it...plain and simple. She keeps her simple, effective, balanced kit while receiving less rewards from doing well + free stats. It's not much, but then again, she doesn't need much.

a jinx who isnt entirely shit will be able to trigger it more than 50%. all she has to do is grab an assist off the splash damage on her rockets, and then snowball like shit through a teamfight. it might not look like a lot on its own, but combined with everything else she has in her kit, it makes her absurd.

"utility and hard cc".... really now She has 1 slow that forces her to stand in place and is extremely telegraphed and easy to dodge and a root that has both a cast time and and arming delay

yes. caitlyns traps are telegraphed aswe,, that doesnt make her less cancerous. telegraphed or not, jinx traps are huge, when it just comes to blocking engagement pathes towards her. she doesnt even have to catch someone with them. its just the fact alone, that she can stop you from being able to get to her by blocking a direct path.

"extremely long" is exaggerated. its half a second. and its long range and actual stupid damage makes up for it. the slow is so strong, that it might aswell be a snare.

the fact that youre calling it a long range poke tool also makes my point. with everything she has in her kit, why does the ability also serve as a high damage poke tool that grants vision? she doesnt need the damage on the ability. she has 700 range aoe auto attacks.

the fact that it reveals targets hit doesnt even make thematic sense. its a fucking tazer. why would a taser grant vision when even lux binding doesnt? its just tacked on power with no reason behind it. they gave it to her, so she can reveal people who are trying to break vision by going into bushes or the fog of war.

but why does she get such consideration, when this strategy works against other adc?

they didnt give varus vision on the victims he hits with his arrow.

its honestly something in her kit that shouldnt be there.

Jhin Kalista Varus Ashe all have equal to or more cc than her that is more reliable and easier to land...

they dont have the other tools in her kit. varus and ashes kits are dedicated towards cc. it is their specific strength on their ultimates. they also dont have 700 range aoe rocket crits that destroy entire teams, or a ridiculous as steroid on demand, depending on what they need.

again. its about the combination of shit jinx has to work with. shes like the Irelia of adc. she has too much of everything.

is irelias q the greatest mobility tool in existence? or her w the best damage steroid? no, youll find individual fighters who have better mobility or a stronger damage steroid than her on hit damage. youll find some who has a better cc ability than a situational single target stun.

its when her entire kit comes together that makes her inherently more powerful and versatile than other champions, since she just has something of everything.

Jinx actually has a champion kit with 5 full abilities. she isnt balanced around having this. its not that her other abilities are weaker to make up for the fact that she has 2 different abilities on her q. is nobody else realizing that?

usually champions with more than 4 abilities have their power budget split up between them. jinx just has 5 full abilities that are strong as fuck when looked at individually.

everything you just said had been addressed/refuted in my comment or by sightless66 (right above your comment)...

I would suggest a slight numbers adjustment if players really want to nerf her. Calling her kit op is simply wrong though

"Ridiculous mobility" "a stun" you're kidding right? Plus jinx is pretty much useless until she gets her runaans and I.E., if she's hitting you hard before then you should probably add some armor to your runes.

Fairyfleur2 votes

Her chompers are a root, not a stun, huge difference. Her only mobility is her passive which is unreliable considering you have to get a kill or assist to activate it.

as a support main i can say that jinx is a good sight to see, sure she gets out of control if you fuck up but who doesn't? she's super squishy and super slow so she can be easily ganked or killed in lane, late game, literally ANY burst champion will kill a jinx, teemo will 2 shot her, lissandra can too, and taliyah can with 2 Q and an E, i know because i always destroy jinx late game with these champs and generally do well against her in lane

LadyRenly1 votes

id rather face jinx than any other adc in lane. lucian jhin and caitlyn give me cancer
