The main issue with Tahm has now been solved

Tahm Kench

Devour (W) no longer gives 15-25% movement speed when running away from enemy champions while holding an allied champion.

Can we all just drop it now?

That wasn't the problem. the problem is the massive damage he does when devouring an enemy.

While being unkillable, providing 2 forms of CC, and having a free TP for himself and an ally.

Along with being absurdly tanky and dealing high damage while building tank. Also those 2 cc chain easily together and doesn't lose stacks for it.

The stacks ARE reset once he devours someone.

If his Q stun ALSO reset them, that would make his W's enemy champion devour close to unusable in most cases. The whole reason Q even has a stun in the first place is to help him catch enemy champions to devour them.

What his W needs to combat chain-CCing is a grace period on it, like other stack-for-CC effects have. Like, after devouring an enemy champion, Tahm can't acquire a taste for them within the next 3 seconds or so.

Also, increase its CD to, say, 24/22/20/18/16, but have it refund 40% of the cooldown if Tahm devours an enemy unit. Which mostly preserves its live cooldown against his enemies, while making it more appropriately gated for saving allies. Adjust numbers as needed.

And if that still isn't enough, then cut the damage his W does by a bit. Not too much, though, because the skill DOES still take a bit of effort to work.

He doesn't need an outright gutting. Just needs to have some of the fat trimmed.

Why are you focusing the tank? 2 CCs is average for a tank. What isn't average is that they only hit a maximum of 1 person. Free TP? FREE TP? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH ok sure.

Because Tahm does to much damage for a tank. He can easily kill most people on your team with his free damage from his ult and his massive scaling health damage nuke.

People keep saying that but I've already made a thread that proves them wrong about it! I've done the math, and Tahm's damage is actually pretty much the same as other tanks in jungle

Not even close. No other tank does 34% of your HP with 1 button and his damage scales with his max HP, where as many others simply don't scale while building tank. A Tahm with thornmail and 4k HP will do significantly more damage than a Sej/Sion/Voli will. The only other ones that might come close to matching him are Mundo or Shyvana both of which have very little CC in order to have that damage.

That's the problem! You see that giant 34% and you automatically think "BROKEN!" But have you actually done the math on it? When used on an ADC, It's pretty much the same amount of chunk most other tank's abilities would be doing at that point in the game. OF COURSE the numbers get bigger when used on tanks, but the amount of health bar that disappears doesn't. Also, Mundo has a massive movement speed buff, and if you get hit by the first cleaver, prepare to never walk at normal speed again until you either die from constant percent health damage or get saved by your friends. Shyvana has a giant hard engage that allows her to jump onto her primary target and automatically start beating the shit out of them. Tahm has neither of those, and his main source of damage is more conditional than there's.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. If you're the ADC or Mage and you let Tahm get onto you, he's either a wizard, or you suck at positioning

And YOU are part of the problem. People like you are jaded to the point of lumping in the broken ability to save an ally from any mistake with average damage for a tank. He only has 2 damage abilities and no ult. Not to mention he CCs himself when using his main damage ability.

Watch a good Tahm Kench. If the game is even between the two teams, the only thing Tahm will be using his W for is saving the carry. You can't save the carry when you're greeding over trying to get kills with it

I'm talking about a jungle or top Kench. He don't save ally, he gets the kills. Don't have to come on that strong dude. [slayer-jinx-unamused]

Well, we have to see how impactful it will be. I would still prefer a more mechanical approach on this (like him getting 30% movespeed, but dropping his ally if enough damage is dealt). If this nerf will stop tahm to save himself AND his ally with 100 hp just because you had to focus the carry and not him at the beginning, then I'm totally fine with him (at least as Tahm support, Tahm top is still pretty annoying with his nonsensical damage and tankyness).

His main issue is his absolutely absurd damage while also being the tankiest champion in the game.
