Not sure I understand Victorious Maokai

If you needed a non-human character for the Victorious slot this year, you could have at least gone with Rek'sai. Would go a long way towards the Rek'sai mains getting over how much you butchered their champion for the sake of Pro Play.

I thought the victorious skin went to whoever made the biggest impact in pro play this year? That's why last year it was Sivir and the year before it was Morgana, and so on

honestly victorious maokai shouldn't be skin since meowkai is 12x better

Honestly I don't have anything against Maokai but you're right and I'd of loved to see a Rek'Sai victorious skin. But then again I guess Riot wanted to give it to a guy this year since it's went to the ladies for the past 4 seasons.

Honestly why didn't they give it to a champion idk... that people actually play. That dumb ass tree has a 2% pick rate. Also, on top of that people want a fun champion to get the victorius skin, and a champ that has mechanics. Not this boosted ass tree champion that has barley any depth (all you do is go tanky and root) I think this was a bad pick. You mention it might have needed to be a non-human pick right? Well why don't they pick kha, rek, or even tham, or they could have picked a champion with a high pick rate Yasuo, lee, nid, zed, vayne, riven, or hey even better anyone but a tree.

This was ment to be Riot's inside joke for people who hit gold paying other people to boost them through dynamic queue. It's to remind them that this season they'll always remain at Wood Division.

Inb4 Maokai single handedly wins the final game of the championship, and Riot is like "Told ya, scrubs!".

Sorry no... Last year was Sivir yes, but the year before was Morgana, year before THAT was Elise.

It's whoever makes the most impact on pro play near the beginning of the season. The mid-season competitions are sort of a later deadline for when they need to finish deciding on it so they can go ahead and make the skin.

Also, they probably decided on Maokai since they knew Ivern was coming out, and they didn't want Maokai to be the "old tree champion" that nobody plays.

Rek Sai was absolutely amazing this year and was relevant all along compared to maokai who was only

I'm not one to complain about free skins, so I'm not too bothered about it. But I'll chime in to agree: Maokai is a weird pick. Victorious Mundo makes just as much sense (i.e. no sense); completely dominated during preseason, fell off the radar afterward.

Rek'sai would have been a bad choice in my opinion considering that she doesn't have that many skins to begin with.

But I thought we were gonna get victorious Zed?

[zombie-nunu-tears]

Not that I even play Zed but that skin was actually pretty damn cool.

rek wasn't as good during the time when riot picked a champion to represent the season

FakeGravity10/2/2016, 3:57:16 PM1 votes

the victorious skin goes to someone that defined the meta at the time, like morgana support forcing cc lanes to play differently, maokai i think was as stable as thresh was at one point? was alot about who can scale like maokai

but i agree he wasnt as impactful neither was zed, but he bring urgot to play so he deserve it

I would have much preferred Victorious Rek'Sai, but then again I have Haunted Maokai so another Mao skin is kind of a waste for me...
