Please tell me these Blitz skins are not keeping that ridiculous walk animation

These skins look really amazing, and the people who worked on them deserve raises, all of them. But come on, seriously? You expect me to believe that a giant mecha with jets for feet still waddles around like a duck? That's a deal breaker if I've ever seen one.

Edit: Alright, so now that the skin has been confirmed to be left with that run animation with the reasoning that giving him a fitting run animation would make him unreadable as Blitz, I will now make my rebuttal.

  1. Considering in draft pick all of the champion portraits use base splash and not skin splash, it would be immediately obvious that it's Blitzcrank. (LOADING SCREEN WOULD SAY LANCER PARAGON/ROGUE BLITZCRANK)

  2. Battle Boss Blitzcrank looks nothing like his original model, has its own running animation, and falls under the same price category.

  3. What other champion in this game has similar posture and shape as Blitz?

  4. So much controversy has been generated over these skins by now that people will know it's blitz just because they'll recognize the skin everyone was saying should get its own run animation

Yeah, but they don't massively change his model and silhouette. Those skins are recognizable as Blitz just by sight. These new skins are so different visually, it makes sense that you may not immediately register that it's him. The familiar walk would help with that.

Not saying they should keep the walk animation, just saying that they have a point.

IDK, even if hes not rounded the silhouette seems similar. He holds his hands to his side and has an oversized arm for grabbing. Watching this thing move seems like Blitzcrank to me.

What we need to know is how recognizable he is without the walk.

What we need to know is how recognizable he is without the walk.

The idle pose is part of how the silhouette is presented though, even if he looks like a mecha knight his silhouette is pretty rounded and he has that squared, squished pose Blitz always has had. Pretty much I'm sayin the silhouette is similar enough with how he looks that on a glance it looks like Blitz to me, maybe the run they were working with was a little further from Blitz's current look but the waddle isn't what identifies him as Blitz imo, its just what sells his basic model as moving correctly.

I'm typically not one to join in complaining about skins.

But now that you mention it, that does actually flip me from a "hell, yes," to a "hell, no."

Opponents have plenty of opportunity to see who was picked, and they can hit "tab" if there's ever a doubt. You see the skin once in game and you'll recognize it from there on out.

To echo other posters, what about his other skins that don't have that waddle? Not consistent. Would definitely buy with better walk animation, likely won't with that one. Looks too silly.

agreed, I mean even it's in the concept, it has rockets for legs so either: **A) Import either Piltover Customs or Arcade Blitz walk animation ** Both have epic skins now. And share the same price Given it only has the walk animation changed and slight model modifications, save for Arcade, who has slight voice modification. Which just fits with Lancer skins.

B) Give those skins some feet. Honestly, worst thing could happen would be for the enemy and/or ally team to mistake him for Galio. Until they see either the Ult's lightning, the build or the hook

Before I looked at it I was "It can't be that bad", but that waddle does make it look that bad. This completely ruins the skin.

If playtesters can't recognize that model as crank, and can't bother to read the loading screen or selection screen to see what you picked... perhaps that explains why things like this AP galio are getting through.

Do they even have testers?

They killed Sewn Chaos and are otherwise just doing the job they're paid to do

I Try to support this company and the good thigns they do but i can't support the new blitz skin until he gets a real anim or until sewn chaos is brought out

I for one, love the walking animation on the new skin and wish they would keep it because it looks so dumb in a good way (like lollipoppy face). If I had to fix it though, I would use the skins current w animation as his walking and have w activate the exhaust flames when the buff is on

Please change it, Riot. It will be a definite bundle buy for me if you do, but if these skins keep the walking animation, then I won't... It looks like another joke skin with that animation, I can't take it serious....

I dunno. They remove sewn chaos due to negative feedback. Maybe enough negative feedback will have these removed and sewn chaos blitz released instead. I would honestly be much happier in that case.

This can't be helped because Blizzcrank's original model is outdated so his skins that have feet look retarded by default

This skin does not have feet. And they had another walk animation, making him hover.

It's just that playtesters were telling them "we can't recognise that it's Blitzcrank with this skin". [slayer-jinx-unamused]
