Is Dragon supposed to be map-imbalanced?

What is the deal with the map-imbalance in the area surrounding Dragon and the pit itsself? Is there some actual purpose to this? It's been this way for a long-ass tim eand even persisted through the map revapm so I'm assuming Riot has some reason for it to be this way.

After several miserable throws commited at mid/late-game dragons recently, I notice that most of the time they are happening when I'm on Blue (bottom-left team) side. I haven't really thought about it until now, but the Dragon situation seems a bit unfair (maybe really unfair) for Blue side.

Same problem with Baron, although the two Epics today are very different objectives that mean different things, it's not really "we get our half and they get theirs". Their value will also fluctuate throughout a game so you'll end up with one team having a clear advantage over another due to terrain and bush layout.

What's imbalanced about it? The location of dragon or the terrain around it?

If you;re referring to the terrain, It's identical to Baron, except it's mirrored.

The terrain, yeah.

And it's mirrored but it's not like both Epics are Dragon. They're different objectives so you get an advantage / disadvantage by a coin-flip on each one.

They're both relatively balanced when you consider that Dragon's effect stacks with multiple kills over time where as Baron is a bigger one-time buff that can single handedly decide a push for win. Blue side gets a small advantage early game whereas Purple(Red) side gets an identical advantage once Baron spawns.

All that being said, your argument's going to moot once Season 6 starts anyway with the new Rift Herald mob (mini-baron in Baron pit before Baron spawns, arguably equivalent to a dragon stack if used right)

What exactly is the imbalance?

The layout and terrain fo the area that provide smore safety / accessibility to one side, eg. top side dragon, a bush on your side of the jungle, two paths in and out right near the dragon entrance, you cna pull dragon into river. Bottom side, you're on the opposite side of the pit with no entrance, two access points to the river are split far apart, no bushes in your jungle for safe scouting.
