Personally given the sheer size of eve, I think it'd be more than fair and I'd make it so she could speed buff herself without unstealthing

And for the loading screen, keep her old splash art and stuff so people will be like " WTF is dat champ?! " when they see her xD

Eve snuck into live and no one realized until she was in their games, it would be so great xD

Problem is, she has to go on the PBE for performance and bug testing.

I agree that this is an awesome idea, but if she's released without any testing on the PBE, it could lead to serious issues.

Just leave her on the PBE when she goes live (without telling anyone) Not as good, but the effect is maintained

They can do hotfixes and stuff without patching, i am sure they could gradually sneak something like that in on the pretense of working out a bug or something.

Hotfixes are purely numbers based. They probably could have the champion downloaded on the previous patch and turn them on mid patch, but that would have to be under the guise of Eve spending an extra patch on the PBE for bugfixes or something.

For the average player who doesn't frequent the boards, I think it would come as a surprise if suddenly Evelyn was different in a regular update without any official statement posted on social media or in the game client.

We at rito believe that having Evelynn being nude demonstrates a side of hers that makes players reconcile with her lore and adds depth to her character design. Thanks to this fact we can gather she's genuinely protesting global warming and trying to raise concerns about the rapid temperature rise and melting of freljordian ice caps. So she has another side to her than just an assassin. Why is she like this? Maybe she lost a family member to a flash flood? Or maybe her part of the shadow isles suffers from drought? That is for the player's imagination to take over and identify with , leading to more fun playing the champion when you feel her actions are driven by a deeper underlying purpose.

She won't be much different. They already confirmed that she will be more of the Warwick scale update having just a modernization of her kit. So for the most part, she will be the same as she is now (just with a few things making more sense).

They test it in their private servers at riot for critical bugs, then just send it to live when ready (and PBE at the same time.)

It's not impossible for them to do. It's a whole lot easier for leaving bugs in, but it's still possible.

I wanna see a champ get released sometime that has ZERO exposure whatsoever. not a single website or mention. just secretly added in during an update. don't even mention them anywhere. just add the champion in. then watch the confusion begin... don't even put them on the PBE.

Not true at all. The first URF game was put in April fools day without any PBE testing or mention whatsoever, I think that was part of the reason why so many people loved it.

Is there really any point in this though? PBE never catches anything. If anything, it fulfils the exact opposite of its purposes. Exhibit Skarner.

It catches tons of bugs. The matchmaking there is not balanced enough to tweak on balance issues too much. But yeah, there have been obvious broken cases gone through that shouldn't have. I think Riot learned a lot from those mistakes, though.
