Is there a reason Mikael's Crucible doesn't remove suppression?

I feel like being able to remove cc from an ally should be a support's job. Yet the item that removes it is item 3140

Any reason why Mikael's can't remove suppression too?

EDIT: I guess I should word my sentences better. Why should QSS be able to remove all CC including suppressions, but not Mikael's? I don't think QSS should be able to remove suppressions at all.

Also I think it would be cool if QSS was pathed into Mikael's as a support item. It would make sense.

If QSS is purchased, the champion who bought it cannot be suppressed.

If Mikael's Crucible removed suppressions, you couldn't suppress any champion near the one holding the item (except for the holder themself).

I have no clue what you just said... it doesn't work on an aoe it's a single target active with a cooldown.

Suppressions are single-target.

If the suppressed target is within range of an ally holding Mikael's Crucible (assuming Mikael's was changed to remove suppressions), they could remove it immediately.

Therefore, using the suppression on anyone within range of the champion holding Mikael's Crucible is wasting the cooldown.

It is rather simple.

So you're saying having Mikael's Crucible being able to remove suppression is stupid because they can just buy QSS?

No.

I'm saying that QSS only protects the holder while Mikael's Crucible would protect every champion near the holder.

Suppression ultimates would essentially be useless if the target was anywhere near the support after they purchased the item. The only viable target to ult would be the support themselves.

Oh I guess that would make sense. Then again QSS is also pretty dumb because most people will just itemize it against suppression champions anyways because it's fairly cheap for how much of a counter it is.

crucible would protect one champion near the holder. redemption has pretty much taken its place in the meta for the bigger heal on an aoe scale. I don't know the last time I actually bought crucible over its athene's counterpart.

I think it would be fair, it if had a long cooldown. Compared to the tier 2 item that is QSS, a better effect with a longer cooldown on a completed item sounds fair. QSS is 90 seconds, whereas Mikael's is 120 seconds (96 with Ruby Sightstone). So you get a worse effect with a worse cooldown but can use it on others. Even the 2 seconds of slow immunity isn't enough to make that not feel like a shitty deal.

If Mikael's could remove supression, but was 150 second cooldown (120 seconds with Ruby Sightstone) and lost the slow immunity, it wouldn't just feel like a terrible item to buy.

Because CC cleansing abilities in this game are fucked and make little to no sense.
