Why Is Wukong's ult so hilariously overpowered?

I can't wrap my head around why this ult is the way it is.

  • Only 100 mana
  • Ridiculous AoE Base Damage (20/110/200) AND Scaling (+110% AD)
  • That means 800 +** 440% AD** = 2120 if you are in it for 4 seconds
  • Extreme #wombocombo potential means its easy to get caught in it for the full duration
  • Gives 40% bonus move speed
  • 4 seconds to AOE knock up
  • Very easy to use effectively
  • Can be used to peel.
  • Can be used to engage.
  • Can be used to disengage.

All into ONE ability. It is proven to be extremely powerful with Wukong's** 53.76%** win rate. It's so overloaded it makes me giggle a bit.

Well, he's strong, but there are a few points that I feel are necessary to make (coming from someone who doesn't play wukong at ALL, I don't even own him):

  1. Pretty sure he can't auto attack while using his ultimate. If his AS = 1.00 for example, that's 4 missed autos (400% AD) while using his ultimate. Sort of makes sense why it has such a large AD ratio then...
  2. His win-rate is probably more driven by the combination of his having stealth, and players rarely reacting to that by upgrading to Oracles. There's a reason he isn't a staple pick in the LCS or other high elo's (his overall pick rate is under 5%) - he's countered by a 250 gold upgrade that every champion has access to (same applies to Shaco).
  3. He needs to use his only dash to engage on your back line, meaning if peeled your back line has a fairly easy time kiting him. My last game against him (as Jinx) he dashed on to me when I was taking a turret. I fought 1v1 as I knew my Malphite was coming, as his last auto was about to kill me I got Face of the Mountain active on me and Malphite ulted him to give me space to kite, and I subsequently killed him without taking another hit. As you should know, Jinx is really not the greatest kiter (my E was on cooldown from the start of the fight too, although I did use my ultimate as an execute), so I think that really illustrates how easy he his to kite.

He has weaknesses. Overtuned? probably, but there are bigger fish to fry.
