How to lane against Ryze!

So I played against Ryze and he kinda f'd me up. I then i tried to play with ryze and tried to learn how he works. I think I kind of figured out how to lane against him without feeding.

Before I start explaining his counters. You need to know that Ryze’s W and E are target spells whereas his Q is an projectile which can be blocked by a minion wall.

The other thing you need to know is that he can spread his flux (E) to minions and you by last hitting a minion with any of his abilities. Thus best way for ryze to farm is to last hit minions with abilities and Q them to farm as fast as possible.

1. He is weak early on due to his mana issues. Make sure you be aggressive whenever you have a minion wall and poke him if you’re ranged. He will try to last hit minions at the start because he doesn’t want to keep E’ing every minion and use up his mana. So try to poke him when he approaches to last hit a minion and when you see him with low mana just charge at him. Otherwise poke him from behind a minion so he can't Q you and proc + get shield and MS.

2. If you are fluxed, Get the fk away from him and your minions. If lets say you are fluxed then you need to make sure, you have a minion wall so he can't Q you and that there is no minion near you that is also fluxed otherwise he will Q the minion and that will automatically hurt you as well. You can poke him whilst you're fluxed and he is busy farming but remember the requirements as i stated above.

3. When there are too many fluxed minions he will Q them always to farm. This is your chance to get him since Q will be down for CD. However if it's a good ryze he will only Q when he can get a shield but even then it lasts for 2 seconds whereas Q has 6 second CD.

4. Just remember that his ult can catch you off guard if you’re pushing his lane too far with low health.

Lastly i just mentioned ways of being aggressive against him but if you want to play defensive (which is best) then make sure that you farm as fast as possible since under your turret he can proc you all day by fluxing you through your minions and then Q'ing them to proc you. Lastly, call for a gank but engage him together as he has a single target snare but that won't help him if it's 2 of you.
