Always thought it would do magical so I'm curious. On the one hand it's really awesome because enemies will have a hard time itemizing against you just because of that, for example a Hexdrinker rush doesn't hurt her as much as other champions.
On the other hand this also means that Sorcerer's Boots, Void Staff and Abyssal's Passive are pretty much wasted on her E, which kinda sucks.
Mafia LeBlanc1 votesWell - look at Eve, for example. Whether you build AD or AP on her, her spells scale with both, and do mixed damage Q & R do magic, E does physical and augments her attack speed. It's the same caveat, hard to itemize against her, but also hard to optimize if you're playing her.

Whenever I use E I run out of energy, and then I can't escape or put on the finishing blow. It isn't like Akali is viable as a damage source, so you need to build tanky:
Use E more than once? You can't escape. Use E more than once? You can't finish a kill with Q
Just forget E even exists- unless if the enemy is literally about to die from a sneeze. It isn't like it is a releveant ability to her kit anyways, if anything, it is a noob trap of an ability. Do you know what would make her good though? Reverting her to pre-rework. When like . . . you know, she functioned. Like, as a whole. Now her ultimate does 50 damage. BUT AT LVL 2 IT GETS TO DO 100 DAMAGE HNNNNNGGGGGG

Are1 votesIt does good damage. You can include it once or twice in your rotation, maybe 3 times if you don't use W, so long as you get the energy return back on Q. Use E to kill someone if you know the damage can kill them so you get the CD refund, which will give you more burst.
Fun fact: Akali will never run OOE with Q, even with 45% CDR as long as she keeps proccing it. You can definitely fit E in your combo.
Are1 votesAkali's E should be physical damage since her kit has a lot of hybrid scalings. It's nice for her to have a damage source that isn't mitigated by MR, and it makes buying AD not so much for naut since a majority of her damage comes by as AP.
