So LCS called Tahm Kench "annoying" recently...

I forget exactly what game it was, but it was fairly recent. The reason I bring it up is because the enemy team had a Thresh, and they have the audacity to call Tahm Kench "annoying" just because he can save people. Thresh can save people just as easily as Tahm Kench and offers so much more with his kit. To say Thresh's kit is loaded would be a huge understatement, and if I had a quarter for every time I saw a game with him in it (LCS or not) I'd be a millionaire. I don't care how "annoying" people think Tahm is. I'd rather see him (or any other support) than Thresh every single game.

Just as easily is a long stretch. Tahm saves you by hitting w and it's almost instant. Thresh has to hit some form of skillshot or hope you aren't cc'd so you can take the lantern. Even then you can stand on it. Thresh has more ways to save you but none of them are as easy as tahm pressing a button.

It really isn't. It's actually easier to save someone with Thresh than Tahm. Tahm has to get really close to someone before he can eat them, and he will inevitably eat some poke while doing so. Thresh can save someone much farther away, and he usually isn't in range of much poke when doing so.

And this one thing is literally all Tahm is good for. His engages are terrible (reminder he has to attack someone 3 times before he can eat them), his cc is terrible, and his poke is terrible. And he really isn't that tanky either. Thresh is probably tankier by late game due to the free stats he gets from his souls.

Tahm is much much tankier unless it's minute 120, his W is obviously better than Thresh W since it breaks CC and Thresh W depends on Thresh's positioning aswell - while T'K can gulp him down with all enemies present and then flash over a wall (or eat a champion hit by eg Ashe arrow, Malz ult etc etc).

Tahm also has insane 1v1 potential for a support as he is able to 1v1 many ADC's in midgame, assuming that they are equal and he is insanely good at punishing splitpushers and overextended people in general with his ultimate.

Overall both are surely similiarly strong as Thresh surely has certain strengths that Tahm does not have (like Q catches overall versatility, higher range in lane) but denying that Tahm has advantages over Thresh in certain areas does not make sense at all. And saving someone is 100% one of those advantages.

Funny how you fail to mention how Tahm is slowed when he has an enemy in his mouth, and that he has to auto attack someone THREE TIMES before he can eat them.

He also didn't mention that you basically have to kill Tahm Kench twice if he can get his gray health shield up.

This isn't a comprehensive list of every part of the kit with it's pros and cons, just an explanation of what makes Tahm Kench annoying. He excels at denying the enemy access to his CCed and low health teammates, to a level that can be very frustrating if done right.

Why you're acting like the caster offended you on a personal level when they stated a fact it's beyond me.

I didn't mention him swallowing enemies at all (which is obviously a strength) so why would I list the downsides of th strength? This wasn't a full list of everything Thresh and Kench can do, basic point was simply that both have certain advantages over the other so I included some evidence.

You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Than is much better at saving allies. The one thing Thresh has over him is the range of his lantern.

Thresh cannot save people who are stunned or knocked up and it can be difficult in hectic fights or around minions to click the lantern.

Tahm on the other hand has an almost insta-grab and he can snatch out of all forms of CC. Tahm is far superior at saving teammates.

Also, his engages are good and he has a far superior ult for engagement than Thresh. His CC is not the best, but his tankiness is easily on par with Thresh, especially if you use your E properly.

Likewise, you can stand in front of someone Tahm is trying to eat or cc Tahm. You're only looking at one side of the coin. Thresh's save requires more brain power from the soul he is saving but with the benefit of being able to save from a distance. Tahm's save he has to maneuver himself but he also has to be right next to whoever he is saving and then has to be able to find a way out himself.

Sure but saying you can cc them applies to both so it doesnt really matter. Also you cannot stand in front of someone tahm is trying to eat. so long as you select your allied champions portrait when using the ability he's going to eat them without fail. I agree that thresh having ranged saves is great but it still has way more factors to it than tahm pressing a button.

how comes thresh can save people as easy as tahm kench? tahm kench comes from nowhere eats someone and gets out with bonus ms

thresh has a lantern which can be blocked, and the dude can't take it if cc'ed

???

tahm kench is the most picked support by far in lck, his kit is beyond broken in competition while sucking dicks in solo queue because he needs coordination the reason you would rather see him than thresh in solo queue is because people can't use him in solo queue

I feel like Tahm is one of those Champs that could use better Jungle clear. His kit is well suited to just fighting anytime an enemy champ is near And actually buying Titanic let's you do amazing stuff due to the AA reset. Plus Devouring an Enemy with a Stormrider's activation and kidnapping them way further is a joy.

Semi-global ult, Pairs up well with almost anyone making ganks an exercise in exploring variation in play patterns.

Kinda like Bard I feel Tahm is a fine support, but would really be suited to Roaming if the meta ever allowed such a thing

They removed the bonus movespeed Tahm gets while running from enemies a long time ago (like last March 2016).

Tahm Kench has legit sat around 47% winrate for over a year now. Simply been picked in LCS does not mean much on it's own, you have to look at how much that individual champion influences the game. Claiming Kench, of all champions, is "beyond broken" is quite an overstatement in my opinion. The champion is literally just an auto-correcter, there to fix mistakes that his allies make. It's probably why people find him frustrating, but if a team were to play flawlessly, then Tahm Kench would be close to a useless meat shield.

Who cares? LCS is different from you, they can have their own opinions.
