Why did I get demoted after only 1 Loss at 0 LP?

I was even gaining 25 LP per game before a few games with trolls/toxic players put me at 0 LP.

Just had to spend the last two days getting back into Plat II when I really wanted to be Plat I by now and working towards Diamond V.

There shouldn't be as many trolls trolls as you denote at plat division to be bringing down the whole team on purpose.. Onless somebody pissed somebody off really hard

What really happened?

No, it's literally people on loss streaks and what not that die once in lane, say 'gg', then proceed to play recklessly and generally snowball the game for the opposition.

I mean, I'm back where I was anyway but I want to know why it only took 1 loss at 0 LP for me to get demoted. I was winning 2 out of 3 games prior to the losing streak so my MMR was still at a stable Plat II level.

It's really hard to stabilize a team when one guy just keeps spamming 'gg' or picking fights with their jungler or support/adc.

Long story short you need to have more then 1 loss in a row to get demoted. This means that if you were at 20 LP then lost that 20 LP the nlose the next game there is a high chance that you will get demoted.

It sounds like you were on a losing streak when you got demoted.

Yeah, but it's meant to be multiple losses on 0 LP. You can't have a Ranked system that Punishes you for Losing Streaks and doesn't reward Winning Streaks. You literally have to not lose a game getting to and completing promos in a division to get any sort of reward for a win streak, but you can get demoted after 1 game at 0 LP after a rought patch?

If I know anything, its how demotion works :)

It doesn't have to be consecutive and it doesn't have to be 0 LP. Losing more LP than you have is the same as taking a loss at 0 LP. So you can lose 1 game, win your next 5, lose all the way back down to 0 and do it again, win your next 3, and lose all the way down again and you'll get demoted on your next loss of LP > than your current.

It does reward win streaks by giving you a higher MMR and in turn should give more LP for a win and less LP taken for a loss.
