... I'm pissed off at the campaign though, it doesn't feel rewarding for doing areas and it doesn't feel like i had any choices to make, i understand the story they tried to do, i just wouldn't play again from a game play view... i mean i ended the game with 115 bonus solarite... i mean the honest fuck, i'm supposed to be an army on the run what am i doing with extra stuff???

I'm looking for a LoL alternative, this season the rito staff went full retard.

There are a few team comps that are questionably balanced, but I have been enjoying HotS. It takes it a little bit longer for their map rotation to get stale IMO.

They are about to try out that new jaeger-playstyle hero Cho'Gall too- things should get interesting.

A lot of people knock on it just because Blizzard made it, but I enjoy Heroes' lack of one-man carries and volatile turn-around system. More fun than losing 2 teamfights to a yasuo and losing the entire game as a result.

kaltenashes2 votes

gonna try it out, when league get back in its feet i might come back is there a champ kinda like teemo there? =D

blueberrypancake1 votes

His name is Murky

I think his special thing is that although he is he weakest hero in the game his deaths basically don't matter

badooga1 votes

I can help you with that. Are you looking for a MOBA like Dota2 or HotS? An RPG like the Fallout games? An MMO?

ULTRA RAMOOSE1 votes

I want a game I can play between 20mins to an hour and that's it, no endless questing and grinding, maybe just a moba of sorts. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

badooga1 votes

For MOBAs, Smite or HotS, as they both have shorter games. Both are a different change of pace than League. I wouldn't recommend Dota2 as the balancing philosophy there is that making everyone equally broken makes the game balanced.

TedBearSurvival1 votes

Play Vainglory. You won't regret it. Unless you are once of those people who thinks that every other MOBA copied LoL. Games take around 20-30 mins and skins you can get without spending real money. Also Vainglory's 1 year anniversary is coming up so there is a double glory (the IP in the game) week.

naw, for real, have no idea how that 1`. got there

If you haven't played it yet, don't expect to be amazed. It's good, but it's... lacking. New Vegas was definitely better.

ABlueQuaker9 votes

Still better than LoL right now. Pre-season always sucks because Riot changes a ton, pushes it to live all at once and then consistently refuses to revert or re-rework specific dumb things they've done.

That's Ghostcrawler's hubris at work, destroying the game and it's player base.

I completely disagree, I love Fallout 4 way more than New Vegas....I feel like the Boston area is actually vibrant, living, moving, in New Vegas I was like....its a dusty wastelander, dusty wastelander, hey look a robot, dusty wastelander..... And it didn't really get much better at the strip. Vanilla New Vegas had that annoying gate that split the strip in half it felt like the Casinos were rushed and could have been done better, and my options with Yes Man, while fun once, don't seem to change too much through the course of the game.

Narasimha3 votes

Did you ever get the DLCS? Dead Money and Old World Blues, I found, were particularly good. Maybe it's just me then, I found that 4 just didn't live up to the hype. The building minigame felt particularly last minute.

Those were the weakest, honestly. The writing for Honest Hearts and Lonesome Road was phenomenal. Best in the entire Fallout universe.

I don't think there's any debate about the environment being better considering that technology came a long way since 2008, but New Vegas had good writing. Really good writing even. The characters were engaging and the conversational choices were far more interesting than both Fallout 3 and (at least at this point in the game for me) Fallout 4. The story is still more serviceable than in previous Bethesda titles but unfortunately that isn't saying much since the bar was honestly quite low to begin with. My biggest issue so far is that the game really isn't anything impressive from a technical standpoint and even with a 780 ti, which runs games like The Witcher 3 on high, my experience with FO4 is full of stutters and glitches, moreso than in Skyrim. Simply put, that's impressive in the worst possible way.

Solumindra2 votes

It was built for consoles first, it was a PC Port. It will have more glitches and stutters with PC because of that. It's been working great on my Xbox One, 20 hrs and only 2 glitches. :P

New Vegas had a weaker story than 3 IMO, but I just didn't find the courier an interesting character. I would have rather played someone like Benny.

Ultîma1 votes

That's very disappointing to hear considering that PC gaming is unquestionably Bethesda's primary platform due to the absolutely unparalleled mod community that keeps injecting life into their titles years after their release. Honestly my experience is currently so terrible that I'm considering refunding the game =/

Sidenote; saying the player character is uninteresting in a Bethesda game is more than a bit ironic.

Solumindra2 votes

I mean canonically. The courier is just bland, IMO, nothing like the sole survivor, or lone wanderer. The radio station in NV isn't super interesting, NV just seems bland. I get that it's the desert and all.....but it's just so dry.... (pun intended)

You can do mods on consoles now too... :/ so it's not just PC this time around, it is actually why I chose to purchase on Xbone.

I wouldn't refund, the game will get bug fixes, and the modding community always bug fixes as well. But ultimately that decision is yours, just remember I think with steam you have to refund within 2 hrs or you cannot refund.

Good luck installing any of the mods that aren't just weapons and armor. Most quest mods or gameplay change mods require a Script Extender (SKSE, NVSE or FOSE for Skyrim, New Vegas and Fallout 3 in particular), so if you were expecting to get something like Nevada Skies, Project Nevada, Wet and Cold, Frostfall, or almost all quest mods (most of them use advanced scripts contained in the extenders) you're shit out of luck.

Plus, the Courier is no more bland than the Lone Wanderer or the Sole Survivor. Bethesda's style of RPG is just more contained, and use protagonists with an established background so you can play around them, while Obsidian goes the "free-for-all" route, in which the character's past, except a few key points (Courier, shot in the head), are up to you. If you find the Courier bland, that's mostly your fault. Not saying that people have to enjoy a "free-for-all" RPG (I personally love both styles) but claiming one whiteboard is blander than the others is just objectively wrong, considering you're the one supposed to draw things in it, it's just that Fallout 3 and 4's whiteboards came with suggested drawings included.

Solumindra1 votes

Canonically you can't fill in the blanks like that. Sure I can imagine that my Courier was some badass from X area or this or that. But in the Fallout lore that isn't the case, all cool for playing, but not so much for lore.

I'll buy it on PC eventually, I always buy Bethesda games on console and then GOTY on PC. I'll get those eventually. But that is assuming that we won't be able to install script extenders on console, which we don't know that yet. You are making a large assumption based on 0 facts and personal bias with that statement.

A script extender would almost surely need to be tailor-made for the consoles, and almost no one (if anyone) in the mod community gives two hot, steaming shites about the consoles. More likely than not it would take a console player to create a mod, and console players play on a console for a reason: IE not to deal with crap like that.

And yes, you can. Want proof?

My Courier was born in New Reno. Single mother, she worked hard to provide for both of'em, developed a Jet addiction on account of it. Died of OD when he was 14. Despite being very intelligent, he was forced to work to make a living, and took the only job would accept someone so new and without experience that didn't involve criminal activity or prostitution: delivery.

His intelligence, weirdly enough, goes hand to hand with his naivety. Almost all of his smarts are book smarts. He took every chance to read any book being delivered, and spent more money than it's wise on'em, obsessed with the knowledge of the Old World and looking for a chance to recover some of the education fate denied him. This left him without many social skills, and idealistic to a fault. Easy to be swindled and manipulated, he tries to do the right thing with little concern for the big picture.

Took the job with the Platinum Chip because there was something about that item that peaked his scientific curiosity.

See what I mean? 3 and 4 give you a role and let you play around it, New Vegas allows you to create one. Both styles are fine, but saying you "can't fill the blanks like that" is just flat out wrong.

"A script extender would almost surely need to be tailor-made for the consoles"

You mean the consoles that run almost identical to a PC.....Not very hard for that to transfer over. Which Bethesda will be doing, not the mod makers themselves.... Once again, we really can't know how that is going to work out yet, quit trying to act like you do.

Agreed. I was playing LoL 3-6 hours a night and now I'm playing Fallout 3-6 hours a night. Told my friend that I normally play with that I don't really want to play pre-season very much, might do an aram or two a night. He has Fallout too now so we can voice chat on PS4 while we play. Woot. Creating settlements and building is like therapy lol.
