Just cause people don't like playing against him, and riot seems incapable of actually nerfing him. Why not just give him the "Morde" treatment? I.E. Make him incredibly niche and all-around worthless.

the term "counter" doesnt fit in a game like league of legends where there are no real counters. In a game like DotA 2 however counters are the way of life and almost every playable character is balanced, which makes the counter concept work at all.
You have to understand... counters happen when the game is balanced. Hard counters happen with bad design.
