New ban idea

How about we get more strategic bans after all riot wants to make this game more like the LCS right well how about this. During ban selections, each player gets 1 ban it automatically shows the opposite laner's usual pick selections the top 5 selections and win percentage per champion. It won't show their pick order or highlight who they plan on playing, but it gives them an idea of who to strategically ban. For example with me, my main adc is Miss Fortune, than Ashe, than Twitch, Tristana, and Sivir. It would show my win percentage for each champion I play as currently for that season. Than that person could decide to ban my main or one of my adcs that counters their main and so forth.......

What about people that haven't played rank yet, well it'll show their normal statistics instead. What if they don't want to ban any of your selections, well in all honestly they can ban whoever they want still, but now they get to see their opposite laners champions as well as others. Dodge times would be quicker instead of having to wait so long just to dodge after you notice that they're wanting to play a Yasuo bot lane kind of shit. Take away pick intent and also it would decrease the chances of your team banning one of your other picks. You have no idea how many times my team have ban away my 2nd or 3rd adc because they had no idea that I play them. I honestly think people will feel better about playing and feel like to have a better chance of winning every game, increasing the popularity and all in all making the game so much funner in my opinion. How many bans are wasted because we ban Lee Sin when nobody on the opposite team owns him or even play him at all. How many times is a new champion ban simply because they're new? Just saying it couldn't hurt to try it, and I think most people would like it.

Why not because you are a one trick pony? Why would this be a bad idea LCS has it not built in but they have it, after all your supposed to know more than 1 champion per role anyways? So why would this be a bad idea?

the one trick pony was unnecessary. and LCS has nothing to do with normal ranked games... you're playing against strangers here not official players. and who said you're supposed to know more than 1 champion per role? and lets see why this is a bad idea.

each player gets 1 ban it automatically shows the opposite laner's usual pick selections the top 5 selections and win percentage per champion. It won't show their pick order or highlight who they plan on playing, but it gives them an idea of who to strategically ban.

1- showing the opposite laner's usual pick? so if someone usually plays support in ranked, the guy who's looking at his top 5 selection can go into the chat and be like YO THEIR LAST PICK IS SUPPORT!1!! Aside from that. let's say for an example, I play adc 24/7 in ranked (or most of the time) but autofill got me in support, the enemy team will see that my usual pick is adc and think that I'll be playing adc since my usual top 5 selection shows marksman champions. and they'll ban one of them and have it wasted on a champ i wasn't even going which will leave me an advantage. (which also means i could be at a disadvantage too) Ok maybe you meant it'll show their Current Role/Lane top 5 selection, which takes us back to this point. so if someone usually plays support in ranked, the guy who's looking at his top 5 selection can go into the chat and be like YO THEIR LAST PICK IS SUPPORT!1!!

2- you're saying it won't highlight who they plan on playing but it'll show their usual top 5 pick selections, so basically if i main Aatrox and I try to play him in ranked i won't get him most of the time unless im the 1st or 2nd pick away from the last 3 picks, Because they'll see that I pick him most of the time he'll be most likely banned. (and none of this is strategically at all)

What if they don't want to ban any of your selections, well in all honestly they can ban whoever they want still

yea... I'll see they have a 60% win rate on Vayne so I'll go ahead and ban Teemo cause I don't like his mushrooms, I'll absolutely do that.

Dodge times would be quicker instead of having to wait so long just to dodge after you notice that they're wanting to play a Yasuo bot lane kind of shit.

huh? no no no no no no no everyone is free to play whoever the hell they want in any lane or even if they break the meta, it isn't against the rules... there's no such rule that prevents you from doing so. (so no one has the right to force someone to not play a champion) it only is when they plan on trolling, but if they pick (for an example) Teemo support and they Actually play as a support then there's no problem. (less dodge queue times will motivate more people to dodge Queues for any reason)

How many bans are wasted because we ban Lee Sin when nobody on the opposite team owns him or even play him at all.

if the enemy team doesn't own a champion (which rarely happens) you won't be even able to ban him. and how do you even know you banned a champ the enemy team was going to play? someone might've actually planned on using him

How many times is a new champion ban simply because they're new?

Well No Fking Shit Sherlock

Just saying it couldn't hurt to try it

unless it's obviously bad, might as well make a champ that destroys the towers with 1 skill, wouldn't hurt to try it. don't you think?

I'm starting to think you just want to feel like your bans are accurate and 99% sure you actually banned something your opponent was going to play. or just try to counter pick the enemy team. nothing you have said convinced me that this will be a good idea.

and as for that issue of yours they ban my champ cause they think I don't play them I've never see anyone do that at all. how many times did this happen to you? twice? i doubt it.

1st if you autofilled it wont' showed shit it won't show shit, and you'll know why, it'll tell this person has no experience in rank play as say support, but that doesn't mean they're going to suck as a support, so can't really say that would be bad nor good.....

2nd They won't always ban Aatrox dude, they just won't for one me personally I've had some really good games laning against Aatrox if you win 60% of your games with him, I would still feel more inclined that you are most likely going to pick this champion if I don't ban him and I rather you play him then say a lane against your next pick intent even though it 20% win rate I've never won a lane against Fiora I rather ban that bitch. That's my point they aren't always going to ban your main that's just simply paranoia at work there, will they sometimes yeah, but how many people main an op champion that gets ban every game.....it's going to happen regardless though it's advise that you shouldn't main the current broken champion people are still going to do it.

And yes you are free to play whatever you want, but me personally if I know your going to run a Yasuo bot lane, I'm going to say fuck that and dodge because for one who runs that shit that isn't very fucking good with yasuo, chances are I'm about to be raped, and then it's just a total waste fuck because after all in 90% of the games you play you have to be the carry to win, it's on you to win and move up, so it's almost guaranteed for me at least this is a lost I rather avoid that kind of game instead of waiting the long ass time as last pick to finally see the troll come in. Oh ntm the simple fact of already picking my champion then seeing a troll pick and saying fuck it now I gotta exit my client.

And I actually read a study, that other than op champions chances are 9 out of 10 times you are wasting a ban on whoever you ban, millions of players play this game and not even everyone has a main, some play with every champion in the game....But against it's an idea that could tweaks for sure, but I don't see a downside to it, make it more competitive.

And that's my point right there, just because it is a new champion does not mean that somebody is going to play with them in a rank match I don't I have my champions I like the last 10 or so new champions I've had no interest in, but back when I was adc main and Kalista came out I was at the advantage because my main was ashe, so it they chose kalista I made them pay, they ban her cool you just wasted a ban.

And actually this probably happens a lot people tend to ban the highest ban type champions yasuo lee sin jax blitzcrank those type of champions but if those aren't my first pick for awhile jax was my third pick but he got ban almost every fuckin game usually from my own team. Well just so I don't got the well no shit dude jax is strong in lane, well my main tank for top lane was trundle yeah I didn't really have issues against jax, it was almost a guaranteed win for me if they chose jax just saying.

My point is all your arguments seem to be based off of paranoia with zero to no actual reason to be against it other than the fact if your trolling or a 1 trick pony.

i second this idea

i actually thought about this too cause if you cant see their champ pool you waste a ban on something they will never pick

Truthfully I think this is a horrible idea, no offense given at all. I respect legit ideas such as yours that people come up with. You can just strategically google the commonly used champs and go from there though... I almost can't find a reason to back up my opinion, just seems like I regularly only see a select of 40 champs played on a daily basis, in LCS as well(not as common, obviously). It is not hard to knock out them op and commonly played champs. I do look forward to the 10 ban system if that is actually happening, I barely remember seeing the post I saw about it.

+1 for effort

You know why LCS has that and it isn't built into the system?

Mainly for two reasons:

  1. Someone gets paid to bother to look up that stuff.
  2. These players have a name for themselves and get watched by reason 1.

Don't get me wrong, it sounds interesting I just can't get behind it. I feel like it would need to be flexible and fine tuned. How well is it going to detect positions and champ pool? Does it look at your top 5 overall champions or purely for position? If the latter refer to first question. How is it going to affect off meta? Even though I currently abuse Lulu, some of my favorite supports include: Sion, Malphite, Cho'Gath, Nautilus, and Maokai. Well, it looks like top lane material.

Pick intent can also be a useful tool. I see you are thinking Lucian. Do you have a second/third pref just in case? Lulu support? Hey, would you mind being something more tanky? Yes, you will have trolls who ban on purpose, but you also have those who just didn't pay attention or were alt tabbed. I find these games far and in between.

You know why new picks are banned so much? Because the champion isn't understood by many yet. You can hope someone on the other team picks it and has no idea what to do or risk that it is someone who mastered it in about 3 games. Even if they haven't and are mediocre. How will your team mates lane against this new champion? Do they understand how it works? Understand the risks and engages against them?
