Discussion over taking away Quinn's execute ult and replace it with a basic form switching

This implies less damage, I know, and most Quinn players (those who play her ADC) are not particularly fond of Valor form. But why? Because it's not valuable for teamfighting, since you get deleted if melee and squishy. So why not just using it for its extreme rotation potential, if it's bad for teamfights? Because it has an 80 sec CD. So, if instead it had a 4 sec CD, it would be:

  • a great roaming tool, allowing to gank top as ADC or TP on wards too far away and not very valuable for other toplaners as toplaner.
  • an attack speed boost to help early jungle clears (admitting she'd acces ult at lvl 1)
  • a way to quickly follow up on ganks, which is a good thing for a feast or famine ADC like her.
  • a way to safer splitpush, as an adc with little support dependence
  • a way to quicker base defense. This would be traded for a big una tantum execute, and push Quinn more in favor of strategic players than "damage estimator" ones. Overall, it'd mean the potential for her to become an assiduous LCS pick (which is not really our main interest, but hey variety in entertainment, why not).

No, only inexperienced and stupid ADC Quinn players don't like Valor. When you actually know how to play her right, Quinn and Valor become a beast. You don't go into tag team right at the start of a team fight! It is the fastest way to get yourself killed, and do the least amount of help in the fight. During teamfights, you kite, like any other ADC should. You hit your marks, throw your blind, and you deal damage.

Once the teamfight is mostly over, you ult to either escape, or to chase down escapees, as you have enough dueling power and burst to take down just about any target.

Additionally, Riot already tested the concept of a pure transformation for Quinn, and they decided against it. It takes away completely what Quinn is, getting rid of her niche completely. Stop thinking of Tag Team as a transformation like Nidalee, Jayce, or Elise. Think of it as a steroid like Yi's Highlander, or Vanye's Final Hour.

One thing, however, is that the execute does need to get looked at. Currently, it deals the most damage when the target is already dead, as opposed to capping earlier, like other executes do (like Riven's)

Its hard to balance AoE executes. But I completely agree with your defence on her current kit.

I sometimes ask myself whether Skystrike is strictly necessary in her kit, and if she could be better off if the power invested into that ability would not be better off elsewhere in Valor's power budget.

One buff I'd like to see for Valor would be to Heightened Senses:

As Valor: Valor takes flight, revealing the surrounding area for 3 seconds. For this time or until he auto-attacks or casts a spell, Valor ignore unit and terrain collision and gets 30% damage reduction (against projectiles or even all damage).

Basically, fulfilling the fantasy of a high-flying bird that is difficult to hit from ground level unless he attacks.

Team fight, go Valor! Damn why doesn't it work?

Team fight where low hp enemies start running, well now you have options. Pick off the weakest 1 by 1, immediate ult again to potential get some multi-kills, that tower dive E with the awesome flee against yi XD - Works a little more often but eh.

I honestly just want an ally to be able to fly on Valor's back
