Weaknesses of supports.

So. I think most people are in agreement that when it comes to support every type has a weakness.

Sustain lanes are weak to engage lanes Poke lanes are weak to sustain lanes And engage lanes are weak to poke lanes.

Pretty simple.

A Leona doesn’t wanna go on if she’s been poke to 1/3 hp. Same for a thresh. And an alistar.

So why is Pyke basically immune to poke? You just took a core weakness of a role and said “nah, he doesn’t need adequate counterplay”

And by immune to poke I mean, between his passive, relic shield and his one potion, he has the actual most health a botlane champion can provide.

Because Alistar and Leona are very tanky, Pyke gets instagibbed if he dives in without his escapes.

Because Pyke is not tanky like other initiation supports, his heal isn't that major early game, and when he goes in he uses any form of escape and because he is squishy if he plays it bad he will end up dying.

None of the other engage supports have an escape either.

And they don’t get very tanky, nore do they put out even close to as much damage.

They don't have an escape because they are much tankier, champions such as thresh, leona, braum, etc have a shield or much more cc in order to engage and stay alive, and are generally tankier and buy tank items. Pyke isn't tanky at all, he's like any other assassin, he just has a bit more sustain in his passive.

Okay. So let me get this straight. I’ll use Leona as the example. Her weakness is poke. She does very little damage. Has strong cc No escape.

Pyke. His weakness isssssss???????????? He does a metric fuck ton of damage. Has strong cc. Has an escape.

Kinda feels a little unbalanced here. Yes he can’t be tanky. But he also SHITS out damage. So why should he also be near immune to poke?

Because he is weak to all-ins? You don't poke him, you all in him. He is a support-assassin hybrid. He wants to be the first engaging and despises everyone who engages on him first. You having this weird notion of "every champion in this class has this set of weaknesses" is laughable. Leona has way better CC than pyke has, better engage tools and is way tanker at every point in the game. She is a tank not an assassin so ofc pyke deals more damage than her and other tanks.

So wait. Are you actually about to try and tell me, that a champion who was made to all in....... is weak to being all ined on? He is not weak to all ins. You just saved him an ability and handed him more damage by going in on him without him already being low. -.-
