Winners/Losers 5.22

This thread is meant to discuss the winners and losers of the first preseason patch 5.22. Keep in mind that this is not about Riot screwing up, seeing how: "Preseason's the time where we can make bigger, long term improvements, even if that means some disruption in the short term though."

**Winners of the patch: **

  • Everyone who loves to build AS/Crit. The reason for this is the new AS/Crit itemization (+mystery). Yasuo Tryndamere
  • specific champions that got a rework within the general ADC changes (Graves)
  • champions who are good at protecting those who build AS/Crit (eg TahmKench , Lulu , Maokai )
  • champions who are good at disrupting those who rely on AS/Crit - not necessarily assassins. The best example would be Anivia due to her AS slow on range and also many CC TANKS (Amumu Sejuani )
  • splitpushing champions due to weak 2nd and 3rd turret (this is a rather weak influence tho - just look at Zed )
  • AD junglers (new warrior)
  • champions with very good mastery synergy ( DrMundo )

Losers of the patch:

  • champions who need to dive the ADC (juggernauts Garen and assassins Zed Riven )
  • champions who didn't directly profit from the patch (obvious, but still relevant)
  • champions with bad mastery synergy (examples?)
  • specific champions that got a rework within the general ADC changes KogMaw

Weirdos:

  • AP's in general. Mages were really strong and reliable in soloQ 5.21 (they easily dominated the top 10 midlaners). Anivia got better because of her AS slow. But why is Akali so strong now while Katarina clearly lost in terms of strength? Weird.
  • DrMundo - yes, he synergizes well with the new masteries. But ADC's got stronger and grievous wounds is so easily accessible - so how?!
  • .. more cases

Please use champion.gg to analyze the winrate/playrate/avg. games played. Try to avoid common misconceptions (eg Sejuani is bad )

Wholeheartedly disagree with this. A little disruption is fine and expected, but the level of disruption in this patch is clearly evidence of very little internal testing. To inflict that on the live population is, quite frankly, abusive, disrespectful, and irresponsible.

Since 5.22 Mordekaiser's winrate dropped 10% overall. Runic Armor not working with his passive didn't help. But bright side is he's no longer on the permaban list
