You Can Go For A Frozen Mallet Bruiser Build On Literally Every Autohit-Centric Melee Champion
And I love it.
The core consists of defensive boots, Frozen Mallet and a Guardian Angel.
Most champions except for a few exceptions also build Titanic Hydra after that.
From then on you can go for another full defensive item or two, preferably with HP. Randuin's, Dead Man's Plate, Spirit Visage, Banshee's, Warmog's.
Other options are attack speed items if you are an on-hit centric champion. The obvious options are BotRK, Trinity Force and Bloodrazor but Wit's End is an AMAZING item, especially if you deal magic damage or your enemy does.
If you are an AD Caster, go for Black Cleaver, if you don't go full tank anyway after the core.
Special mention goes to Sterak's. I personally believe people build this item on too much champions. It is a good item, don't get me wrong, but it's only worth it if you scale with base AD. Don't waste this item on champions with a lot of bonus AD scaling. Like don't build this on Fiora or Jarvan you fools, just check out their LolWiki pages and you'll realize how stupid you are.
Besides that are a few items that are built on only one champion, like Ravenous Hydra and Death's Dance on Fio ,Gunblade on Jax or Phantom Dancer/IEdge/Bloodthirster on Yasuo.
The build gives you an awesome combination of burst damage, DPS, anda healthy balance between resistances and HP for a nice amount of effective tankiness and sticking potential.
Everyone has seen it on Yasuo and Gnar, but on anyone else people just forget about it even though it is so damn good. You already know how annoying, sticky and tanky they are, and how much damage they deal. Now imagine the same on the following champions.
Tri-Force, Defensive Boots, Frozen Mallet, Titanic Hydra, GA, Sterak's
Tiamat, Phage, defensive boots, upgrade phage into Black Cleaver, GA, upgrade Tiamat into Ravenous Hydra, Frozen Mallet, Death's Dance
Trinity Force, defensive boots, Frozen Mallet, GA, Gunblade, Warmog's ( Warmog's might seem a bit weird, did some maths with his ult and it caps CDR with runes, it's a solid item choice ).
Bloodrazor with red smite, defensive boots, Frozen Mallet, Titanic Hydra, BotRK, GA
Cinderhulk, defensive boots, Frozen Mallet, GA, Titanic Hydra, Black Cleaver ( note: lacks 10% CDR wthout blue. may switch out Black Cleaver for another defensive item, would make you lack even more CDR though )
Bloodrazor, defensive boots, Frozen Mallet, GA, Titanic Hydra, Dead Man's Plate/ Banshee's
Bloodrazor, defensive boots, Frozen Mallet, GA, Trinity Force, Dead Man's Plate / Spirit Visage
Bloodrazor, defensive boots, Frozen Mallet, GA, Titanic Hyrda, Spirit Visage/ Dead Man's Plate
On one hand I want something to be done about this item, once people figure this out it may become a similar problem to Rylai's.
On the other hand I just really love this item. When you are in a meta that is so full of CC, disengage, kiting and mobility, I as someone whose favorite mechanic is right clicking, feel like I just gets kited super hard no matter how hard I try.
Especially as a Yi main, once my ghost, ulti or BotRK was down I just felt like I had no chance to do anything, because after alphaing most people could just jump away and I wasn't able to stick to anyone anymore. Once I discovered the holy grail that is Frozen Mallet and its bruiser builds, not only did I solve that problem, I also did not lose out on too much damage and I feel much more tanky now.
Would love you to test some of the builds above or come up with something on your own and share it.
